Lord, never thought I'd be giving Live props over 2K for realism. What the hell is happening to the video game sports world?

:D
The two companies are slowly switching roles, which is bizarre, but may result in some of the greatest sports games ever made over the next few years from both publishers

:D :D That's true. (Y) I think it's mostly because of the street game-mode in ESPN. Some of the moves roll over to regular games. People complained that ESPN is boring and Live is too arcadey. Now NBA Live is trying to tighten up and lean towards a sim more, where as ESPN is loosening up and trying to add more arcady and fun elements to their game. Just wait until both are at that same point...

Sim is as close to realism as a very game can get. This article was very intriguing. Can't wait til next week.

Well the article was okay, but I learnt this is the same guy that was saying NBA 2K3 had too many plays, his credibility isn't high. I really don't like IGN's ratings, go Operation Sports :D

Personally, I didn't care too much for the review. It seemed to tell us a whole lot of nothing with info we're already privy to. Didn't help that this reviewer seemed to be giving Live it's props begrudgingly, I'd prefer a review from a Live veteran and fan.

thats not a review. and he gave live his props. he was very unbiased and said there was no basketball game in last 2 yrs taht was a good game which is true. the last good nba2k was 02.

as far as live hes right. I have been playin live since nba live 96. Ive played it on pc until 01. live slipped off a bit after 2000. especially on consoles.

they made real progress in 2003 and 04 but still there were many flaws.

they have fixed dynasty issues, collisions, tweaked gameplay, fixed the sliding, added tip ins, u have 2 box out, fixed the alleys, added dunk contest after yrs of begging. live is back on track.

this will be the best basketball game ever.

and the ratings are fine.....they have finally distinguished stars, role players, superstars, and practice players.

i cant wait till tues

I didn't mean to imply that it was an official review, just that it wasn't very informative. My comment about his bias wasn't related to the fact that he wasn't giving his honest assessment, like you said he was feeling Live 2005. I just would have preferred to have got this info from a Live veteran rather than an ESPN guy because then I know the writer knows exactly what he's talking about.

i can't trust that "review" He states that there were no good bball games the last 2 years but also reviewed nba2k3 and rated it one of the best bball games ever/ He disses VC for having "complicated" sim like plays and that no one uses more than 4 plays in the 2k series.. and VC takes them out a year later/ And he calls himself a sim guy..

Its all about plays IMO.. where's his credibility?

not taking credit away from nbalive. more so his credibility.
