Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.
Tue Aug 17, 2004 2:49 am
As you might of noticed, Madden 2005 had a Collectors-Edition along with the regular release of the title which included the Madden 2005 title, and other '16-bit' titles of previous Madden titles on the Playstation® console along with video extras, and interviews.
It would be great if EA also released a 'Collectors-Edition' for the next NBA Live release, the 2005.
Thanks.

Wussup snypz, I love the idea but there's one problem. In the Madden Collector's Edition they do in fact have the old games but with current rosters because of licensing issues. Kinda takes away from it just a bit, don't you agree?
I would LOVE to play Lakers vs. Celtics and do that Tom Chambers move where you double pump and dunk it from like the three point line. Most unstoppable move, ever in a video game.....

what game was that?

Hi Pelao, Laker vs. Celtics is the very first basketball game from EA Sports. It is the forefather to the NBA Live series. I've played every game since then and yes, I'm a very old man.
1991- Lakers vs. Celtics
1992- Bulls vs. Lakers
1993- Bulls vs. Blazers
1994- No game!

(That year I played David Robinson basketball)
1995- NBA Live '95, the beginning of the NBA Live series we've come to love and enjoy.

But Madden came out with the Collector's Edition because it was the 15th Year of Madden. How many years is NBA Live gonna be out when it comes out wit 2005.

This will be the tenth anniversary of the Live series.

i cant believe i met someone else who played david robinsons basketball. bullseye bond was god. could nail it from half court with 60% accuracy. best thing is he never got picked in first round, usually 3rd actually. this meant i could draft a good center then grab bond.
anyway i did play the EQ bball game also in 94. it was nba showdown. it kinda stunk as it had those stupid hot streaks. i would nail 3 easy shots with my best 3 point shooter(was useing golden state so this was mullen), then i would camp his ass at the 3 point line and just rake in the points. to get off the hot streak you had to miss 2 in a row so if in the off chance i missed a 3 i would go take another layup and do it again lol.

But knowing EA it would be like Madden in the other sense. It would be $20 USD more and only come out for the PS2. The PS2 part is all I would really worry about.

Oh yeah, why did I think there was no game that year? I hated NBA Showdown! I was so disappointed in how they changed the graphics and and gameplay that year. Easily the worst in EA Basketball history. Maybe one of the worst basketball games ever.........
That year I was hooked on David Robinson basketball!

I played David Robinson Basketball a lot too, quite a good game, loved those halftime reports
As for the Collector's Edition, it would be definitely a nice touch.

To be honest..im not really interested in playing past 3D lives. Only ones i'd play again are those 2D ones from the 90's...especially live 97 with michael jordan in it.

the only 2d live I've played is 95... i would be interested in 96 and 97.
98 and on are pretty recent... it would take up too much space.

like already posted, i would love to get my hands of chambers and his double pump from nearly the 3 point line. i played a game once where i had 244 points and everyone was by him lol.

Hehehe, yep, remember when you had his "spot" on the floor memorized? You had to come right off the wing, jump from his "spot" then boom! There was nothing you could do about it. That's why I always picked the Suns when friends came over and only used the Lakers against the CPU.
I can remember my brother and I exclaiming things like,
"They've got Kareem's goggles!"..........
Someone said Tecmo Bowl? Oh man, Bo Jackson was unreal. The funny thing was he could only run one play. yet you'd destroy people with him.The only other running play gave the ball to Marcus Allen.
Remember how you used to have to "hide your hands" when picking offensive plays? There was always somebody who'd cheat and pick "down & B" also on defense so they could crush your play. I always kept my hands inside my shirt for the whole friggin' game!
Heres a link for screens of Tecmo Bowl:

I have Tecmo Super Bowl for NES....STILL, It's at my Grandma's and Lawrence Taylor is freakin' INSANE....He'd run faster than Michael Vick and run over an Offensive Lineman and SACK!

Hehehehe, yeah, good ol' LT. Those touchdown cut screens were hilarous. No matter what he was always a white dude, even if you scored a touchdown with Walter Payton or Bo Jackson!

I like the idea and even though I have the entire NBA Live series, I can't run NBA Live 97, 98 and 99 on Windows XP. I'm assuming that if they were included in a collector's edition it wouldn't be an issue. However, playing those old games with current rosters would kind of spoil the whole retro charm.

I agree. But as you state here, you can't run NBA Live 97 to 99 on Windows XP.. most likely the Collectors-Edition would only come out for PS2 users as the Madden 2005 Collectors Edition was only released on the PS2.
