athens 2004 tournament on live 2005

I'm writing this after seeing the US team hard defeat in the Olympic Games, but it's not the first time I brought this up. I think the Live team should put in a national tournament into the live game in my opinion it's not too late. Most of the national stars play in the NBA so they just need graphically to create more players and uniforms and add it to the game (a FIBA court would be nice.)
It's time that the people in the EA team understand that there is beautiful basketball played outside the league, as the Fifa soccer team understood that there is great soccer outside Europe and ST. America.
Magic Johnson used to say that every moment he wasn't practicing on the court Larry Bird was and that made him work harder. The US team will win the gold, but the world has been practicing harder, and should be recognized for it by the live team too (sorry for the long post)

good idea, but if EA was to do it, they would make "Athens 2004", a separate game, like they do with FIFA every time.

I wouldn't care if they would come out with an international basketball game, but they didn't so I suggest they give a little well earned recognition to international B-Ball (it's not enough to get parker's and Nowitzki's cyberfaces right)
In this version of live it would be understandible if they just put in the teams

I think it is only a matter of time before National Teams are added to the NBA Live series. NBA Live 2004 included the Spanish National team (technically only for the Spanish version of the game) and NBA Live 2005 will include an International All-Star and a Euro All-Star team.

NBA Live 2004 also contained references to Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey, USA, Venezuela, Yugoslavia in an unused DBF file...so we can see that EA is at least considering the idea.

EA's NHL series has had international teams for years and for NHL 2005 the are including the upcoming World Cup Tournament in the game. Having international teams in the game has never detracted from the NHL part of the game...

I think it's a nice idea and I'm sure we'll see it in the next couple of years, but the game is late in production and I'm sure it won't make it.

maybe EA should make a different game for this. i dont want the live team to waste time with national teams. this is NBA live after all. they could however make a totally new game devoted entirely to international play. they did it once with the dream team(i didnt like it myself, game play reasons) so why not bring that idea back. thing is though in a game the usa team will always have highest rated players and be the best team. why you ask? simple. video games dont take into account team chemistry at all, atleast yet. 1 on 1 our players are better, 12 on 12 we wont even medal.

I don't see why not, great idea. Perhaps in 2-3 years maybe? But not this year, we've got plenty of new stuff to keep us busy.

I wouldn't object to national teams and international tournament modes in NBA Live though I feel that the NBA Live team should focus on making the NBA modes as good as they can before adding such extras. Perhaps an international basketball game based on the NBA Live engine (like Euro 2004 and the FIFA series) would be more appropriate in the meantime.

What if EA Sports just threw in some randomly generated players for each national team and let the players take care of everything else?
