nice find, dude! (Y)
and Timmy finally shows his face once again!

The Rookie Challenge lets you take control of the NBA's young stars as the Rookie team takes on the Sophomores. Defense is really an afterthought in this game; the first and second year players will create highlight-reel after highlight-reel from high-flying dunks over defenders to self-alley oops.

In the East/West NBA All-Star Game the best players in the NBA square off for an offense-first showdown. It's a unique game experience which is all about breaking ankles, alley-oops, monster dunks and powerful swat blocks.

You can string together hundreds of different animations to create the dunk you want, when you want it. With this new technique, there are over 50,000 different dunks just waiting to be discovered. Some of the possible combinations are absolutely crazy; you can toss the ball off the backboard, off the shot clock, even off the crane cam in the arena! We really think that this will give some inspiration to the high-flying NBA dunkers to elevate their game in real-life Slam Dunk Contests in the future.

And in case you're wondering, all four NBA All-Star Weekend events are integrated into Dynasty Mode as well.

With the new Simulation Intervention you can stop the simulation of a game at the end of any quarter, enter Gameplay and take control of the game. The Simulation Engine also provides more accurate results and for the first time we're able to provide you with in-depth Box Scores and Power Rankings.

This'll answer a few burning questions...

For the Slam Dunk Contest we've put on a filter and only let players in that would be able to compete in it in real-life, e.g. Jason Richardson, Vince Carter, LeBron James and the like. If you create a Player with the right attributes you can also take him into the contest. In addition, we've added some great dunkers from the past like Spud Webb.

if you want to Sign a Free Agent, you make your contract offer and send it off to the Player's Agent. Based on your offer and his demands, you will get a positive or negative answer within a few days. Other teams will make you trade offers via Email, but if you ignore them they will take the offer off the table. It's a very exciting and new way to play Dynasty Mode and there are lots of things to explore. If you run your team well by winning games, training players and scouting players, other NBA teams may offer you a job.

cool! (Y)
you can get new jobs like in NCAA football 2005.. (switch teams)

Other areas that we have improved are the Off-Season, the Simulation Engine and the Rookie Scouting. The Off-Season is now integrated into the Calendar and you are free to explore all aspects of it. If you want to get to know a particular rookie's skills before you're about to draft him, you can take him into a 1-on-1 game and see how he performs against players on your team.

It's about time!

Sounds great!!

Totally reworked post game

Improved CPU intelligence (CPU can do freestyle moves like you can, Shaq is a monster in the paint while Allen Iverson is unstoppable from the perimeter by another)

Tons of new aminations (passes, pass receptions, dribble-bumps, dunks, lay-ups, shots, rebounds, blocks and Pro-Hops)

Mid-range game is back~

30 signature shooting styles for players like Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Peja Stojakovic, Antoine Walker, Steve Nash, Shaq (SHAQ?????)

there are over 50,000 different dunks just waiting to be discovered

A lot more great things to come!~! Cheer!~

Ernie Johnson and Kenny Smith provide the commentary for this game mode as well, and you better show them some innovative high-scoring dunks to avoid getting humiliated. Your dunks are being judged by such Slam Dunk legends as Dr. J, Dominique Wilkins and Dee Brown. We've also added some non-competing All-Stars to the sidelines who react to your dunks with a variety of emotions. They'll run out on the court to capture your dunk with a handy cam or mock you for missing dunks.

i noticed that 2 people have also posted this but i am gonna also cause i think its that good.

" If you want to get to know a particular rookie's skills before you're about to draft him, you can take him into a 1-on-1 game and see how he performs against players on your team."

this is great news to me. this is exactly what the dynasty needed. correct me if i am wrong but i dont think even madden has this, though like i said i may be wrong.

btw i do remember tim from back in the day. glad to see him doing so well.

That's good. This wasn't mentioned before, and I was getting nervous that only current players would be allowed.

I like the part when you have like your teammates or other all-stars coming out on the court to show the dunk on the camcorder. I can't wait to see that.

What a great read!

In addition, when you go up for a dunk or a lay-up and you see a defender attempting to block your shot you can alter it in mid-air and switch from a lay-up to a dunk or from a dunk to a lay-up.

Sounds good, if you're going in for a layup you can change your mind and go strong for a nasty dunk.

A completely reworked Post Freestyle move set

I'm looking forward to seeing this.

dribble-bumps

Noooooooo.

Watch out for over 30 signature shooting styles for players like Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Peja Stojakovic, Antoine Walker, Steve Nash, Shaq and many others.

Signature Shaq in 3 point shootout? Where did they see him shoot 3's? :? Unless they mean his in the paint shots in the game..

You will receive Emails from the Team owner, Coaching Staff, Scouts, Medical Stuff, NBA Head Office, other NBA teams and Players' Agents.

That sounds good, free agency logic. :)

If you want to get to know a particular rookie's skills before you're about to draft him, you can take him into a 1-on-1 game and see how he performs against players on your team.

 Lebron VS Shaq

We also added a lot of new 10-man Mo-cap data for creating new multi-player scenarios such as box-outs, V-cuts, backdoor cuts, pass-deny defense, pump-fake-and-go, successful and failed spin moves, 'go' moves and dribble bumps.

Once again,

Your teammates read the situation on the court and react according to what you are doing with the use of V-Cuts and Off-Ball screens.

Maybe theirs hope for inbounds plays. :D

"The Simulation Engine also provides more accurate results and for the first time we're able to provide you with in-depth Box Scores and Power Rankings"

Does this mean we will be able to check box scores for every game? Even thoise of other teams?

That would be cool! And what do they mean with "power ranking"?

In order for the Pro-Hop to be effective you'll now need a clean open lane, otherwise you'll bump into a defender and end up losing the ball.

With the new Simulation Intervention you can stop the simulation of a game at the end of any quarter, enter Gameplay and take control of the game. The Simulation Engine also provides more accurate results and for the first time we're able to provide you with in-depth Box Scores and Power Rankings.

A completely reworked Post Freestyle move set combined with further player differentiation and signature move packages on the perimeter create the deepest Freestyle system to date.

You'll also notice that CPU players now utilize the complete Freestyle move set often and very effectively -- they can do every move that you'll be able to pull off.

Post moves now in the game, and the CPU actually uses the freestyle, those are very good additions. The post game was just bearable, but this should make it at least average.

The AI has been upgraded to improve CPU intelligence and add further player differentiation. Shaq is a monster in the paint while Allen Iverson is unstoppable from the perimeter by another, other than the best defenders. Your teammates read the situation on the court and react according to what you are doing with the use of V-Cuts and Off-Ball screens.

If the defensive AI can react to what you're doing on offense I'd like that a lot. If you go to Kobe a lot, they'll start doubling him. If they see that Ron Artest is on Devean George, and Fred Jones is on Kobe, they'll switch the defensive matchups etc.
If you have Jonathan Bender at SG, they migh switch the SF over because of the huge height disadvantage a SG might have.

We've added a lot of new animations for passes, pass receptions, dribble-bumps, dunks, lay-ups, shots, rebounds, blocks and Pro-Hops. In order for the Pro-Hop to be effective you'll now need a clean open lane, otherwise you'll bump into a defender and end up losing the ball.

Good, I for one use the "jump stop" a lot when I play in real life, but I know it surely isn't that easy to beat your man with it, and people don't just move back for you to go by them. Also the new animations is a bonus, and they're saying the crappy pass animations are gone.

The mid-range game is much improved and it's easier to attempt and hit mid-range jumpers. There are a lot of different jump shot styles, but unlike last year, those release points are all the same this year.

Rip Hamilton will be happy about this, and so will anyone who likes to use him, Michael Redd will also be happy, and so will Vince with his love for long mid-range jumpers.
Mo-Pete doesn't care though, as long as their's a corner three point spot he's satisfied.

For example, if you want to Sign a Free Agent, you make your contract offer and send it off to the Player's Agent.

We already knew about the real money and the PDA system, but this is good, this should mean players don't just accept offers right away. I hope they can emulate somethng like Madden's or ESPN NFL 2K5 in FA signing, so FA's will entertain offers till they find somehting good for them.
They should add a simple CBA, not the complicated things since most people won't know how to work it, but Restricted Free Agency, Mid-Level Exception, Low Level Exception, and Minimum contracts would be your only options if you're over the cap, and if you're under you can sign till you get over then you have the restrictions.
You should also choose whether to give a play his Qualifying offer or to renounce him as a RFA, etc.

I hope their's actual "Rookie Scouting", so you can analyze the players before the draft, and the rookie "workout" thing is a good addition too.

With the new Simulation Intervention you can stop the simulation of a game at the end of any quarter, enter Gameplay and take control of the game. The Simulation Engine also provides more accurate results and for the first time we're able to provide you with in-depth Box Scores and Power Rankings

This is good for those times when you're playing a game and can't finish, I like this addition.
Also the better simulation statistics is a very good addition, and Power Rankings is something also included in ESPN NFL 2K5, they have the ESPN.com link where you can check statistics etc.....

All in all, Live is shaping out to be a great sim game, and the gameplay looks like it's going to be very very good.
