Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

I dont know if you all noticed but basketball has become international game. I saw how badly U.S. Dream team got beat by Italy. 95 to 78. That shows we need to stop thinking that America has best basketball team... (or best at everything; i dont know why we say 'world serise' this and that, shouldnt it be American Basketball League champ?
Anyway, my point is that I would like to see a game mode or new game that has internation teams to compete. any thoughts?

Well, first of all that was an exhibition game. But don't get me wrong, they got their asses whooped. However, If the US doesn't win the Gold medal this year, then I think they should include these international teams.

But you have to asks yourself is that actually needed because we all know USA will most likely when gold and besides the NBA isn't really that interested in the World Cup becuase half the real stars doesn't even play unlike other countrys who only goal is to beat USA. But we all saw what happen last time when we had the real team, we dominated so badly that plp wanted to fight them. Does anyone remeber when T-Mac dunked on somebody and a big fuss came about.
Wed Aug 04, 2004 4:35 pm
I would say yes and no. Yes, because it would be something new and a nice feature that could spice up exhibition mode. No, because it's unnecessary. NBA Live is after all a simulation of the National Basketball Association, a league in which international teams do not compete.
I certainly wouldn't object to international teams, but I don't think that their absence is detrimental to the game.

What about US Dream team vs all the foreign stars in NBA.
You really have to check out some of International players, they can shoot and pass. Our 'World champ' only mean within U.S.A, just because you dont make money like nba players, dont mean you suck.

u think if we had our best players in there, would it even be a challenge?
i think there's more US hate versus US love or over estimations imho

What an ignorant statement. You obviously haven't seen international players; Germany (who didn't qualify for Athens) nearly beat the USA Team this year which proves most teams has a chance to win especially as we're playing some good teams in Spain, Serbia and many others.
By the way, calling this team the Dream Team is a joke. This team is NOTHING compared to the true and only Dream Team who could actually play team basketball and who had much more skills than our USA Team, this year. This year, our USA Team can only launch a three, take it to the hole or get fouled; the mid-range game is non-existant. Another thing that is non-existant is ball movement; the key to overcoming a zone is moving the ball; quickly and make smart decisions.

What if the USA Team had a team of:
Shaq
Duncan
Garnett
Kobe
Kidd
T-Mac
LeBron
B. Wallace
Iverson
Artest
J. O'Neal
Okafor
Reserves: (Top 3)
Marbury
Anthony
K-Mart
Do u think this team would lose a game? I don't think so

what was the fuss when T-mac dunked in olympics?

I'm sure they would. They won't have the team chemistry you need for a team because they all have to have the ball in their hands they're all/will be superstars. Marbury has no place on Team USA, he's playing a horrible performance so far in the Exhibition games. Most NBA teams don't know how to play against a zone; you think it will be different when playing against a zone versus some of the best players of a country? Keep dreaming.
That's the reason the Spurs are so effective, they have 1 superstar, 2 emerging players (Parker and Ginobli) and some good roleplayers. Plus the Spurs can actually shoot the ball (including midrange game).

you guys are completly missing the point as to why the U.S. team is loseing. we are senging over 12 PLAYERS while they are sending over a TEAM. huge difference there. until we put together a team we will continue to have problems and will get loses. the U.S. dont need the 12 best players they can get, what they need is a couple of the best scorers, a great shooter, great passers, rebounders, defenders, and so on. youy take a good 3-4 guys and pick players to fit with them. these "teams" we put together are all used to takeing the shot whenever they want it. they are the team. now we are asking them to take the back seat? they aint used to this.
my solution is to take 2-4 of the best scorers in the nba who play team ball (Kobe need not apply), then surround them with a great supporting cast. has the NBA finals not taught anyone anything? its a team game, the best team wins not the team with the biggest names and talent.

I'm not bashing USA dream team. However, my point is this. It is a Team game. we should have no excuse of saying; these guys didnt play together long enoough if we lose.. although it is true. so stop blaming others and give respect to new champ/team. just like you gave props to pistons.
heres another good example. look at euro soccor league, they dont say they are the world champ. plus they dont think they are the best unless you win the world cup. do i need to say anymore?

we dont know if it would be a challenge. too bad our countries is only royal to money. however, when will you start respecting others with having them prove something? why do you have to prove something? do i have to kill a local gang member to get respect? world is funny and sad. 2cent

That's what I'm saying. We don't need the best scorers but we need to good slashers with a decent shot and two sharpshooters (Ray Allen, anybody?). Our team can't shoot and they aren't playing team ball and THAT is why we are losing our games/barely coming away with a win.

Think it was Vince over Freddy Weis in 2000.

Like many others, I think they should get gameplay perfect (or near) anyway, before adding new game modes; not a bad idea though...
Fri Aug 06, 2004 12:31 pm
what was the fuss when T-mac dunked in olympics?
It was like last year or the year before when USA had that big squad{becuase they got whooped the prevoius year} and they were killing some team real BAD and I think it was AI who stole the ball passed it to T-Mac who stop and walked and dunk the ball backwards. Then he gave it to the ref. But what happened was some guy got jealous was going to fight him.
Actually I think it was last year?????
Fri Aug 06, 2004 1:00 pm
if the USA team had that lineup that, that guy drew up, they WOULD NOT lose a game.
personally i think that the lakers teams could win the olympics.
i just think USA got cocky and thats why they lost
Fri Aug 06, 2004 2:56 pm
YEA!......I also think, (know), that if we had the roster listed above that we would more than likely not get beat once, unless a miracle occured

oops, my bad... didn't see that. I don't seem to remember the T-Mac thing though.

I'm not from America so i'm not always backing the USA team, but i have to say that if the USA national team had the same time together training that all other National teams do, pus getting some help on playing agaisnt a Zone, they would clearly be the best team (most likely already are) in the world. What people are doing is trying to compare good teams (Italy foe example) to a team of good players (USA) that hasnt learnt to play great together yet.
Even if the USA dont win the olympics they will still be the best basketball country in the world, just maybe didnt send the best team.
thats my 2 cents anyway.
Oh BTW; Go Tall Blacks!! lol
