well, i want realism, but only to a certain extend. I certainly wouldn't like to have too much s*****y games ending with a score like 67-74 on a 12 min quarter basis like there are too much now. I'd be Ok for once in a while, but games ending between 90's and 100's are really much fun to play, I'd prefer that compared to boring realism

well im not meanin all you will score is like 67 or 70 i mean like you dont score over 200 points.and shut down certain plyers too.cuz i play my bro and he like the 90s team and he just shoots with mj and scores everything mj was good but not that good now.so they need 2 check in2 that too.

here's the deal...this is a computer program. there's no way they can make it 100% real. hell, they probably can't make it 50% real. that level of articifial intelligence would require startrek-type stuff. maybe they could do it, but i bet it would take so much work they would end up having to release an "NBA Live console" and charge you $500 bucks for it

Actually the reason for high scores is that no one that plays wants to slow down the game, most people play like the Atlanta Hawks energized.
How many people actually run the clock down to more than 14 seconds before shooting, more people are shooting about 5 seconds after they get the ball down the floor.

The only realistic results you can get is by using 8 minute quarters. I still got a quarter of 47 points one time, in a 9 minute quarter. And I am very drastic with the sliders (layup % 0, dunk % 0, adjusted shot 0 %, free throw difficulty 100 (and I average with Shaq 90 % free throw shooting, Kobe 99 % (420 of 425 Free Throws)). It's just about the fast-break, players with good offensive awareness just go on the fast-break and dunk or layup, even if I intentionately put double teams and high pressure on them (by modifying the computer team's playbook, defensive playbook). Not to mention about the bugs like sometimes you take a charge, the computer gets the offensive foul then scores while in air, and even tough is credited with the offensive foul the basket counts!!! Or sometimes if you get a defensive foul in your favor so you should get to the line for 2 free throws, but you hit the rim when you shoot, they are given the ball and is like you stepped "out of bounds". Stupid bugs ya know.

Just imagine that regardless of sliders, one game in 12 quarters finished something like 250 - 200 in my favor, of course on superstar level (which is already so easy).

Oh, and not to forget. I play on positioned attack or half court don't know the english definition (opposite to fast-break) usually until the shot clock goes to 5-4 seconds remaining so I can get the best shot possible, but still score soooooooo many points.

Opposite of fast break is half court offense.

The main reason why there are such high scores are because people shoot the ball too quickly, and they make too many shots. If you make most of your shots, you will get higher scores. If you play team ball, and try to rotate the ball around and stop sprinting up court like you have 3 seconds left in the game, you can usually have lower scores. Also not abusing things and trying to play 'real' can help. I remember someone saying something along the lines of, "This is too easy just pro hop and dunk etc etc" Well if that's too easy, then stop prohopping! Player in the NBA don't even do that as much.

Also, I don't really like superstar. It's hard and challenging, but hard in the wrong way. It's not hard as in, "The computer will make smart decisions that will leave you thinking you're playing a human," it's hard as in, "Even with CPU Assistance off, you still ironically notice that none of your shots fall + you get no calls during the 4th quarter" All Star mode has some of that, but not alot, so I just go to All Star and jack up the sliders (or jack some down)...

Also, Raptorel you say you score so much even though you run the clock down. That can only mean:

A You make too many of your shots

and/or

B The computer scores within the first few seconds

I've noticed in the past when I slowed the game down, I remember the computer making shots with 20 still left on the clock, and it really helps jack up the scores. If you adjust the sliders so you shoot a real looking %, and you play good enough defense to make the CPU use some time, you can get lower scores.

Right now in my dynasty I'm playing 12 minute quarters, and I'm getting pretty good looking scores. I even have my fair share of close games.

Yeah I know I sometimes let the point guard shoot the 3-pointer as imediatelly as he comes near my perimeter. I mean I guard him, then move a little from him so "he gets open" then when he is about to shoot I come and block him lol (with 0 at block sliders) I still get about 15 blocks per game. Kobe is on 3rd place in the NBA with 2.7 BPG. Not to mention that Gary Payton is among the leaders in Offensive Rebounding with 2.7 OFF RPG. The fact is that not even superstar level is challenging since I won a game with a score like 120-50 (70 points difference) playing with the Sacramento Kings vs. Philadelphia. . And yes, the sliders are fine.

look dude....here's the new deal.

if you are winning by that much on superstar with the sliders tweaked and getting 15 blocks in a game with the block slider on zero.....then you have played this game WAY too much and need to get a life. Go to the zoo, go bowling....hell, look up "Escort Service" in the yellow pages.

someone who has learned how to "play" the game that "well" should certainly easily be able to take some college courses and get into a game development position---because you are obviously of very high intelligence if you have learned to abuse the game to this degree.

So, about the Escort service, ask for Gina, she's the best.

Just don't "cheat" on the computer and play realistic with good sliders.

I suggest you play on rookie and just boost the CPU's sliders therefore they won't start playing cheap ball. The CPU is much better that way and it can equal out to some realistic games.

Yeah, I would like it as real as possible, but I wanna have fun, too... It does get kinda boring until the 4th quarter. That's why alternate game modes are needed like 3pt shootout, dunk contest, and hopefully soon: mini-camp drills a-la Madden.
