No news so far. As with in-game saves, my guess at this time is that it isn't in NBA Live 2005, but that's subject to confirmation.

by taking many screenshots then making a .gif file. Also, fraps and many other 3rd party programs can make videos.

Replays are so necessary

Postby john on Thu Jul 22, 2004 5:34 am

I agree, having an in-game save/replay is vital. I mean it's awesome that the guys over at EA finally came out with a slam dunk contest (I didn't think they'd do that for a LONG time!)... but without the ability to save replays as movie files, there's just no way to remember those truly defining moments in the game.

As for having a dunk contest, back when we could save replays, NLSC used to host an online dunk contest of sorts by posting people's best replays. But I think the traffic was too much for the server at the time. It just died out over time. And it sucked too, because I had this awesome replay where a bug in the game moved the ball quickly out of your hands and back into them again - so I had Vince Carter on a breakaway. He lost the ball b/c it got stripped, but the bug kicked in and the ball flew off of the backboard and into his hands as he did a 360 windmill. It was truly amazing! I still have the replay!

Besides, how much trouble would it be for the PC game designers to add a save replay and in-game saving feature? (I am obviously not a programmer, so that's not a rhetorical question)

You know that. i know about 3rd party programs. But will everyone have the will to use them ? i am talking about a NLSC dunk contest here.Everyone will pick a player and make their sickest dunk. And they people would vote to pick the best. And the best would get a title called " Slam dunk contest winner". Whoa !!

Yes..the 2001 replay saving was great. However, i was only answering your question about how to prove your dunks.

I think if people are serious about making a dunk competition on the boards...they could still use stuff like fraps.

I think that's the best idea anyway. You could put it into animated gifs.

To save replay is great option. In other games (FIFA, PES3) i allways save replays with better, smarters goals.. :)
