Suggestion:EA should actually WATCH NBA games!!

Fri May 07, 2004 8:24 am

That is the ultimate solution to Live's problems. There shouldnt be no "script" in Live where 1st quarter is user controlled, 2nd quarter is user-controlled, end of 3rd quarter is cpu comeback, last 3 min. of 4th quarter is cpu victory and user starts to miss shots, TO balls, etc.
This is a suggestion by the Malicious....

I don't think the comeback code should be scrapped entirely. The CPU needs to remain challenging even after you've played the game for a month or so. The problem is that this part of the AI is too aggressive, to the point of being unrealistic.

CPU comebacks should be possible...within reason. Sometimes teams do overcome large deficits to win games or at least come close. Of course, it shouldn't happen too often and only under the right conditions ie. the other team getting too relaxed.

Therefore, CPU comebacks would occur when the user fails to execute well on offense and gets lazy on defense. The CPU would get back into the game by playing a smart game - using their go to guy as a decoy to get some easy buckets from wide open players who usually wouldn't get such good looks.

I find it annoying how into my second season of dynasty- it gets real boring because its too easy to win and how unrealistic gameplay is...even with sliders....EA needs NBA models for the games...not players they pluck of the street!

the comeback code aint that bad... it actually helps liven up the game if you have a big lead.... it just needs to be toned down a little bit

I know what you mean. The problem is, a lot of players' Primacy ratings take too big a hit, resulting in the CPU being a little more tentative on offense.
