I don't think full blow fighting would be appropriate in NBA Live. It happens rarely in reallife anyways. Now if they could throw in some stare downs or some harsher taunts. Sometime I wish they would bring back the intentonal push button from way back in the SNES days. Pushing a guy sent him flying across the court. Now that was the SHIT!!!!

I'm strongly against fighting in NBA Live. Full blown fist fights are very rare in the NBA, and there are not a positive part of the game. Personally, I feel that if you want to beat people up in a video game, buy GTA or a fighting game. NBA Live is a basketball sim, not a gory fighting game.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against fighting games or the Grand Theft Auto series (in fact, I own GTA 1-3 and GTA: Vice City). But I really don't see the need for fights in NBA Live, when it is supposed to be a realistic NBA simulation and there are very few full-on brawls in the NBA.
Just my two cents.

well. A ful blown fist fight woud not be good at all.
But maybe like 754boy said; harsh taunts and stare-downs.
They could also walk towards eath other while talking shit (we won't be able to hear it ofcourse) and then have a teammate or ref break it up before anything happens.
I guess that would be one way. The other would be to just leave it out completely...

yeah i think the game would need like a long stare down, or "up in each others face" where theyre liek face to face for a few seconds and then liek somoene from either comes in and gets between them or sometihng, thats a good idea

Fights happen so rarely in the NBA, it wouldn't be worth having in NBA Live.

It's more appropriate to include fights in NHL games as fights do occur more often.

ok..i got what u min...but i wish there could be expressions in there faces like they want to fight..like we can see them trash talking..or pointing..at each other...or maybe 1 push only and the ref would take overe emediately...pls consider ;peace

Having players display that kind of emotion wouldn't be too bad I guess, but I doubt the NBA would allow that either.

I'm pretty positive that they won't put fights in the game. When Tim (formerly of this site, now with EA) was still answering posts on this site, he mentioned that there would not be any technical fouls in the game, except for things like defensive three seconds in the lane violations & for calling a timeout when you have none left. He wouldn't give a reason why there wouldn't be any technicals for players or coaches arguing a call, so I assume it has to do with the NBA not wanting those elements introduced into NBA licensed videogames. We've already seen the results of the NFL trying to remove some of the violence from the NFL Hitz series, so I think this is along those lines.
As far as wanting fights in NBA Live, my opinion is that it's not that commen of an event to introduce it, even if the NBA allowed it. I'd much rather see technical fouls for arguing or even for player controlled flagrent fouls.

it would be cool if they added a toughness rating or something of the like that they have in NHL. THis way you can incorporate technical fouls especially during high emotion, high tension moments of the game. Fights in NBA is VERY rare but personally it would be really nice to have stare downs or ppl talking shit to each other (just look at game 3 of the LA vs Houston game Malone staring down Nachbar was intense). Adds to the atmosphere of the game.

that would be nice too
thougness, trashtalk, people looking at each other, ref coming between...

I'd like some kind of emotion meter thing that could indicate when a player gets a tech. It wouldn't just go up the same way for all players though, there would be an agression rating where Tim Duncan has a 0 and Ronicide has a high 90's. That way the only way Tim Duncan could get a tech is if he was fouled hard 3 straight times or something.
Fights are a no-no.

Hmm I don't know, you probably just want to make Boykins foul Shaq hard so he sits on him or something..

Poor Boykins.

As I said in the other thread, the reason we never include fights on the Wishlist we send to EA is not only do a great number of people not want fights, but (as bchogan has already posted) EA has already indicated that they will not (or cannot, due to the NBA's insistence) include fights in the game.

Hmm well since they say you can't have fights how about one of them makes a glare at the other kind of how they do that to some refs and the ref kicks them out..?

Why do you want to fight in a game, maybe seeing players argue on the court is all right. But look at stats, nobody gets into NHL fights in basketball because its very costly. So I say no, because it wouldn't help the game.

NBA.com wrote:The game featured six technical fouls and the ejection of Heat guard Rafer Alston, who picked up one for a shoving match with Hornets forward George Lynch midway through the third quarter and was tossed for punching Hornets guard David Wesley in the groin with 1:50 left in the period.
"That was an absolute war out there," Van Gundy said.
I'm not saying there should be shoving-contests or groin-punches
I'm just saying that these thing happen. So it wouldn't be very outrageous to have stare-downs...

I like the idea to some extent. Big brawls should rarely occur. I wouldnt mind seeing a couple of shoves or players getting up in eachothers faces and taunting. I want to see technical fouls though.

All i ask for; Improved Graphics, more realistic animation, real time movement... and TV presented view instead of pressbox view.
I also think it would be nice if cpu can cut/move screen constantly like real game by interacting with other cpu. i think 2003 had good cut squence..
