LOOKS
For the C-A-P, they should first of all give more options for looks and hairstyles.

NAMES
If u give your player the same last name as an NBA player, the annoucers should be able to say it (or better yet, any last name)

PROFILE / BACKGROUND
They should give the bio option more details, and use those details to create a little profile for when the annoucer's are talking during the game (like how they do when you score with Michael Finley, and they talk about his high school one on one game with Jordan)
Maybe they could do it depending on what college you select to go to.

PREGAME
They could also use the bio section to do the lil pregame assessment on CAP's too, like how they do for the real NBA players.

GEAR
In the gear section, they should let u choose your headbands, shoes, etc. for every jersey u wear, like the home, away, and alternate, as well as throwbacks.

SHOES
In terms of shoes, they should take a little bit of creative leeway, and let you create colorways of shoes (like a Hornets AJ 11 colorway)

i guess that's all for now, a few minor improvements :)

great ideas, especially profile suggestion. they could just mention something like the former ( insert college team here ) throws down a big dunk or something and i'd be happy with that.

"NAMES

i had live 2000 on the nintendo 64 and it did this. antoine carr was still playing then (or at least he was still in the game), and i made another player with the last name carr and the announcers said it. also i made another stockton, it said it too. why would EA choose to leave out such features in newer games? makes no sense.

one idea i have is a "player mode". i don't know if this has been brought up by anyone before (i'm sure it has)...but why not be able to have like a 'dynasty lock' on a player. so that you negotiate your own contracts, etc.

Similar ideas have been posted already, so a lot has already been said about it.

I don't really like the idea of a single player career mode, as it seems to me there would be a lot of sitting around, watching. One of the aspects of NBA Live that I enjoy the most is the ability to play various roles, from general manager to benchwarmer. I think it would get pretty boring playing 12 minute quarters.

I don't mean have a player lock on during the game. Oh, hell no. I would hate that. I just mean to have other teams approach you after a season if you're a free agent, and make you contract offers, etc....this idea would have to be expanded upon greatly to be incorporated into a game though. I guess it boils down to just wanting a more in-depth dynasty mode  lol

So you would be able to control the whole team through Dynasty games, but you would control a single player during the offseason?

hm....that is what i meant, but point taken. i think my idea that i expressed was quite a bit too vague. it really does boil down to just wanting (needing!) more control in the offseason. I mean...you can't even view your roster during the draft. Sheesh. There are a million and one things that need to be improved. I love the system now, but that doesn't keep me from desiring more.

I just wasn't sure what you mean by a player mode. I agree that improvements to the offseason would be most welcome.

I would like to see them add a feature for those high flying players and hard dunkers. Like this:

Dunk: 95
Jump: 99
sub: two- legged leaper: power dunker: windmill, tomahawk(these players bring th rim rattling hard dunks and really embarrased the defender with finger pointing after they dunk over them, especially those with high shot blocking ratings at the 5 and 4 spot.
one legged leaper: glider(inside the free throw line or closer depending on jump rating) these players are most likely to do a reverse in the air if a defender steps in front after making an adjusted shot attempt or just dunk on them

would love to see moer baseline dunks and reverses too

Exactly the dunks should be more explosive i went to the Lakers and Suns game and Shawn Marion exploded from the paint it was intense.Live 2005 took Jordan out of the games and obviously his dunks went with him..more player re-actions and finger pointing good idea (Y)

I think when your creating a player, u should be able to choose a players tendancy. I know that when u create a player the ratings will control how a player moves or plays. But i still think that there should be some tendancy options

Example.
1) I create a PF. I choose his tendancy to mainly shoot instead of posting down low, like Dirk Nowitski.
I've noticed that even though opposition PF is a great 3 point shooter they almost never take a shot from down town.
2) I create a PG. I choose his tendancy to post up on opposition PG, like Gary Payton. Not all PG's are good at shooting 3's so there should be a tendancy to to mainly post up or drive the lane.

So therefore there should be able to create a player and choose his playing style/tendancy.
eg.
Post up-dunk/layup
ballhandler-passer
outside-3point shooter/passer
dunker-(likes the isolation plays)
shooter-either catch and shoot or screen and shoot
Rebounder or Defensice player

There should be a primary and secondary tendancy. IMO this would make for a better C-A-P.

I think there should be more than what is listed.
So when you have a team, if your player has a playing style that accomodates to the other players then there would be better team chemistry, Playbooks would be better executed and the game could become more realistic.

Agree with you on the jumping/dunking-rating ..

Maybe you just said this, but i'm just clarifying ..
In previous games, you end up with the head in the same height for the same animation no mater what player. I think players with 99 in jumping and players with 59 in jumping should be able to do the same dunk (the simple dunks), with the diffrence that the 99 in jumping player got his head up there in the rim-section while the 59 jumper dosn't take of nearly that high.

I think also jumping should be a big factor when dunking in traffic. Not many players can dunk over defenders ..

So there should be this link between jumping and dunking ..

Dude I agree with you so much about the commentators using the created players bio during the pregame and during the game (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y) (Y)
NBA Live 2003 is the best game ever made.

Yeh these suggestions are great, we really need a much better edit player mode ! Plus they have to need better hairstyles, more hair colours, I'd like to see a CAP editor like Pro Evolution Soccer 4... It'd be great. :)

I have NBA Live 2005 on my Nintendo 64 aswell!! Believe it or not and as sad as this may sound but sometimes i play the game on the old console just to get the feel of what it's like to have a Created Players name announced in the game, this works well by creating LeBron James & Carmelo Anthony.

After that game was released i thought it was about time we move into the future of gaming by having such a feature added to the Live game series but after that it stopped? Why!? This is such an important part of the game the could get people liking alot more knowing they could have there name announced!

Also i think somewhere in this Subject people mention Nicknames aswell, in NBA Live 2005 if you look at a player profile then you can see all of their details inclueding their nickname...Why can't Created Players pick nicknames from a list that could be announced aswell?

EA gives an excuse, like "We started programming the game code from scratch so we had an insufficient time frame to add that feature."
