thanks for the comments guys!
here are a couple of nice dalembert pics i thought id post just for fun...after using the sweatalpha from 07 and making it work through photoshopping, i just kinda thought they started looking like 07-ish, and so i was thinking maybe its like a look of a cross between 05/07. well, here are the 07-ish pics from live 2005
edit: i forgot to say that my lighting is enabled as well. i dont have the actual option to turn it on, but i just DLed a settings file from someone(i think shannon, not sure) who was able to actually turn it on.

Do you have the time?... :)

currently, not now. ill try my best to convert them over the weekend though

I'm not sure, I think maybe Scorer had it in his CJU 2005 beta. At least one of them, maybe. I've got a converted Philly alternate but I'm not sure who's it is.

Plus those screenies look great-perhaps you could get permission to try and get the arm and leg sweat patches switched across to 05 (i.e. adding the sweat to the 05 skin files)?

i was thinking of doing that. only thing is that there are WAAY too many players to add sweat to, so what i'll do OR might do is that ill add sweat to some players, along with sweat on the arms/legs. some are gonna be somewhat cheezy cause what im thinking of doing is just take some greatly made default 05 faces and use 07's alpha to add sweat to and also using some of the patcher's greatly made faces and doing the same. also, the reason i decided to post up a pic of dalembert and not some other player is because, well ive added sweat to few other players already and among the ones ive done, i feel that dalembert's came out to look the best imo.

Didn't Seushiro have a pack of sweat skin files that covered all players? Maybe you can try adding it to that.

Sat Oct 06, 2007 9:45 am

hmm..you got a point there...but why not use seu's instead though, unless what youre asking from me is to make a new update on the sweat applied skin?

Sat Oct 06, 2007 8:12 pm

Well, it's a bit hard to see some of Seushiro's. The ones you can see are pretty good, but the others...

What I'm suggesting is that you add sweat alphas to the 05 skin files (they're placed differently), not the area with the fingers (you'll see) but the rest of the area would do well with the sweat alphas.

If you could give me a quick tutorial on adding alpha channels on Photoshop, I could probably try it...

Sun Oct 07, 2007 12:21 pm

jonthefon, do you have messenger or some other like that btw?
well yesterday, i know ive already run into a problem for extracting 05 skin files from the viv file found under the 'nba live 2005/sgsm/common' folder and it was called xplrtex.viv. what i did was use EAge to extract and that was the problem. so, instead what you should do is use(<=actually..DONT use, cause i found out doesnt work either. so the easier way is to just copy all 15 items of what seushiro has provided for us) biggui to open the viv file and extract the skin files 00-42(15 items total, not 43  ) from there onto desktop or whereever you find easier, preferrably into a new folder or something, that way you dont have a messy desktop.

edit:  omg...i thought of something just now...i feel so stupid. you dont even need to extract 05 skin files, just use 07's skin texture altogether with the sweat alphas :x
edit(AGAIN.. :x ): UGH! ok...nvm. it wasnt really stupid afterall. you DO need to extract skin files from 05. i was thinking of something else. the reason you need it is cause, well, 07's skin format is different from 05 and you need all of the skinxx to be able to import the finished conversion of BMP file from the .dds file

opening up the fsh files and exporting, hopefully you know what to do there.

now onto the photoshopping part, you open up the exported .dds file and there should be a box that says 'DDS Read Properties'. select 'Load Using Default Sizes' and say ok. after your file is opened(the positioning of the tool boxes should probably be by default, unless you repositioned them yourself), create a new document 512x512, go to the 'channels' tab....basically, well my probably long explained tuto is about the same as what seushiro did, but using the alpha files that SUM07 is currently using. heres his thread that kinda begins explaining it all, or at least most of it

just kinda thought it was funny in a way cause you said
jonthefon wrote:If you could give me a quick tutorial on adding alpha channels on Photoshop, I could probably try it...
and here i am about to give almost a long explanation. anyway, when you get into selecting the alpha channel, do select all and then drag it onto the new document the skin already being there and from that point, you could just mess around with the opacity/fill/blending change/the little adjustments(which can be found under image>adjustments>[whatever that you would like to choose to adjust]

Well, I have Messenger, but not on the same computer as where I have my Live and Photoshop.

anyone able to test this skin00 out for me please? i tried working on it on my laptop at school earlier, and well this is what i got..idk if it looks good though cause pale-colored skins, for me, are harder to blend well with especially when working with sweat alphas. so here is the BMP. make sure to backup your original though before you import this BMP into skin00.fsh  http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/1981/skin00lq2.png

Thu Oct 11, 2007 10:28 am

Well, I tried it, but it doesn't seem to fit in with skin00, it's too...muscular and a bit dark for that. Unfortunately, it doesn't look too great for me. Then again, I badly photoshopped it (I did put the thing in the right place though.)

Thu Oct 11, 2007 1:07 pm

yea..adding sweat to a pale-colored skin is a little harder for me. its hard to get the right toning to make it look like as if only sweat was added to without making the actual tone look too different. i do better on darker colored skin like skins 2,3, and 4

Fri Oct 12, 2007 8:30 am

So I want to experiment with the sweat on 07...but how exactly do I open .dds files with Photoshop?

Fri Oct 12, 2007 11:31 am

in order to open .dds files with photoshop, you'll need a DDS plug-in. i'll try finding it and then i'll PM it to you.
also, im planning to release my latest logos patch as soon as i get a couple or few more done, so watch out for it

Can't wait for the awesome patches man!

what would you guys think of a v2 team select that woud look like this?
Image
right now, its a 6x5 preview..ill change it up to a 5x6 in the actual thing. what i was thinking of doing with this new look, is that when any one team is currently selected, that logo will either show up brighter than the others or have some kind of symbol[behind or over] noting the team being currently selected. how about it? yes/no..comments?

Fri Oct 12, 2007 6:00 pm

That would be great when you select team and its brighter.

Off-Topic: Just want to share some pics of Antoine Wright

haha..that headband seems to be a size too big for his own that it falls to his eyes

edit: anyway, i asked [King James] for permission regarding his recent cf releases of penny, arenas, m. james and others.
so, upon releasing KJ's 3 new cfs of penny, arenas, and james, here they are with sweat alpha added to work with 05. you can grab them here  http://www.speedyshare.com/394971392.html
almost forgot to mention, credit goes KJ for his work
i will also do iggy, okafor, and kbrown later. if you want his released headshapes, grab them at 4th-qtr. for penny's custom skintone, i might have to re-edit it, dunno if it's too dark or not cause imo with lighting turned on, it looks fine to me. besides those

Sat Oct 13, 2007 12:22 pm

get it at first page where it says "Last Set RLSD!"
this last set of logos may be the last patch that im releasing for now...due to the fact that i recently have little time on my hands and that i have other things to do like college work and stuff. when i get the chance where i have plenty of time on hand, then ill think of releasing the v2 logos, the conversion of any future jerseys and other things. so after the release of this last set, i think ill take a somewhat short break--depending on my class schedule, to see how busy it gets

Sat Oct 13, 2007 12:41 pm

Thanks for the release! 8-) Hope you can create more awesome and high qulaity patches. Goodluck with your school works!
