Here's one bug that's really been bothering me lately: In dynasty mode, I have simulation set to intervention so I can play any quarter in a game I like to play. I intervened on game which went to overtime (I started playing in the overtime period), and the minutes set for overtime was 12 and not 5. This happens everytime I intervene at OT, so I tried playing in the fourth quarter and forced the game to go to overtime. It was still a 12-minute overtime.

Has anyone else experienced this? Please help me out. I'm using NBA Live 2005 for the PC.

3 second in the paint

Sat Nov 20, 2004 5:48 am

Whenever on offense, the Computer does not get called for the 3 second violation in the paint.

Wed Nov 24, 2004 11:16 pm

One time I simulated the first 3 quarters and jumped in to play the 4th. I immediately checked my players' stats for the first 3 qtrs to see who was in foul trouble...

I had Lorenzen Wright with 6 fouls, but instead of being out of the game, he was playable. So I took him out and tried to put him in again and the CPU let me do it. :?

Next time I will try to commit a 7th foul with him to see what happens

I have never intervened in OT, so I don't know. But if I intervene in the 4th and pushed the game to OT, it's 5 minutes...so no bug.
PS: I have xbox

I have one bug too,but im not sure it hadnt been posted here before. When im shooting free throws, half of the rectangle misses! Sometime yes, sometime not, its strange.
Anybody has the same problem?

Thu Nov 25, 2004 11:08 am

this has been discussed already, but i feel it is definitely a huge bug that needs some more consideration and discussion.

"The Point Guard Scoring Onslaught"

Every game I play in my dynasty, the other team's Point Guard rips me up. And these aren't great PGs, either. Most recently, Bryce Drew. And before that, Jannergo Pargo. These guys are dropping like 30 points. Nothing can stop them. It's very hard to block them for some reason. They just lay it right up and in.

This is something that certainly needs to be addressed through an offical EA patch, if it can be corrected.

Yep I agree with Donatello on this one. The same thing happened to me with Lindsey Hunter throwing down dunks in traffic and Chucky Atkins catching fire and hitting about 4 threes in 2 minutes..

When you sim games, looking at the box score, the shooting guard seems to rack up bulk points regardless of their offensive talent too. Steve Smith averaged about 25 ppg for a stretch there, and when I replaced him with Kapono the same thing happened.

And what is with the computer changing the starting lineups when there is no injury apparent? Sometimes when I look at the box scores, to my surprise there are key members of my S5 who have started on the bench for some reason

I like that actually, but only when it happens to starters who are not the franchise player (Ex: I don't like if Kobe starts from the bench, but I like if B.Grant takes Odom's spot sometimes)

On the PGs thing, have you tried to go to the defensive matchups menu and put the pressure on high for them? Also put double team on yes. MOst of the times you will be able to limit them (although sometime they will hit unbelievable 3pts with 3 defenders around...but only sometimes..).

PLAYERS STOPPING MOVEMENT TO RECEIVE A PASS

That's not a bug, just a flaw in the gameplay engine, also try not to type in all caps

no, that's a bug, I can show you a pic later.

Karl Malone was floating on the air for at least 5 seconds.

some other guys will do the same thing (actually I know how can trigger this)

How can this be not a bug? No one floats in the air for 5 seconds... =(

I want to delete this , but I just can't. The x isn't just there.

There are three things that I just can't stop bitching about....

1- I really miss the Sort column button in the stats central during the game. It was just too easy to see who scored more points or gave more assist. in 2005 you can select the column but just not re-order it.
It was so much easier to see who had the highest ammount of points in my team after a game.. now sucks, specially when a starter gets fouled out/injured , so I have to scrool down the arrows to see what he has done in the game...

2- Scrooling! Ea has managed to put point/rebounds/assists/block near each other, so we won't have to use the scrool bar, scrooling all the way to the left.. Well, in 2005 we can't actually use the SCROOL bar, we have ot use the tiny arrows! Blargh!

3- Whenever on offense, computer players don't get called for 3 seconds in the paint!

I won't even mention the fast break plaers freezing thing again...

Blargh! it makes me sicka!!!!

- Peace

Lots of bugs...

Sat Nov 27, 2004 8:15 am

Recently noticed that not possible to see reflections with press cam angle on pistons court,Gund arenas jumbotron lookingwithout bottom, player don't have gestures any more
all faces looking like frozen, did EA worked with volunteer quality testers, this live edition looking like nothig but cheap ties tied together..?
Anyway I'm going to play ESPN 2K5
So long!

it takes quite a long time (well, compared to 2004) to switch teams on screens like the player selection screen on 1-on-1, you can't rapidly click on the arrow to go where you know you want to be, you have to wait for it to catch up.

Yeah ... I have seen this too. I simmed a season and at one time I intervened after the fourth. The overtime was 12 minutes. I haven't pushed a game to overtime yet with playing throughout, so I can't say if its only when intervening.

Actually I haven't experienced this yet. At least no unusual high scoring by the opposing PG. Devin Harris of the Mavericks dropped 11 on me, Steve Francis 17 and Sam Cassell 20. Nothing too unsual I think.

SG's are something else, but that might have something to do with who I play on that position. JR Smith, David Wesley and Junior Harrington don't seem to be equipped to defend opposing SG's well ... Michael Finley dropped 31 on me, Cutino Mobley 25 and Latrell Sprewell 29.

So I'd say its rather a matter of who you have on your team at the PG position than the opponent. I have Baron Davis running my point, he is a good defender, so opposing PG's don't get as much chances to score as they might with your team. SG is another matter entirely ... like I said, above mentioned players don't seem to have what it takes to defend on that spot well.

Something I have seen which is a bug to me ... or at least should be changed to the way it was last year. Screenshots out of replays. Last year, when you clicked on the camera symbol, the toolbar went out for a second and the screenshot was made. So when you looked on the shot later, the toolbar wasn't visible. But this year the toolbar stays in the picture ... which looks quite dumb.

This whole game sometimes looks like an unfinished console port ... but then again its tons of fun to play. I hope they release a patch and fix some of the glitches.

I think when player stops during receiving the pass its not a bug. Important thing is with which player you passes. If you pass with bad-assisting man, the pass isnt accurate so the pass-receiving player has much work to receive it. Otherwise, i can receive passes from good guys without slowing down.

And one more thing: im not sure its a bug or problem only in my computer, but when i shoot free throws, i can see only triangle instead of rectangle. Whats this? thx
P.S. Im very sorry if somebody had questioned about this before.

Hey guys,

Ive got some serious issues with my graphics when I'm actually playing a game. I have a new Radeon 9600xt VIO card, bought it for this game....

Wat happens is, when im playin black 3d ish lines come accross tha screen and i cant see wats happenin on court.... it flickers off an on, and its getting worse...

Ive tried installing new drivers, ive downloaded 5 different ones, doesnt make a difference, tried using vsync and not using it, tried practically everything i can think of, so if anybody has any suggestions let me know....... btw, i did send tha card back to be tested, came up with no errors, and i have run my own performance tests with no errors as well..

So if anybody can give me a clue on wat to do from here, would be appreciated....

Later Johnny.

I posted this somewhere else already, but I haven't gotten an answer, so it must be a bug if nobody knows how to solve it.

When I save my new controller configurations that I like, there is no way for them to be saved for when I go and play a game or a season. Only default are used once I start a game or season. Usually, there is an arrow pointing to the left on the lower left to go back and to NOT save and an arrow pointing to the right on the bottom right to SAVE the changes. There is no arrow on the bottom right to even choose to use the configuration controls you pick and save them. You have an option to save the settings, but no arrow in the lower right corner to actively use them when I'm currently playing.

Because of this, I keep dealing with myself accidently calling timeouts all the time because the left joystick or left analog is what I use to move the player around, but if I press down at all (which happens often) it just calls a timeout. What am I doing wrong?

Exactly. I play with J.Williams and all my fastbreaks are smooth. Each pass is caught on the run...

yup. as long as you run your fast break realistically, it's very smooth. i think the fast break animations are breathtaking. they rock (Y)
