i am still working on the sliders, in that game i got my first ijury to Marbury in the first quarter and he was gone for game so that did shut down my offensive usally i shoot 45-50%. My steal were down coz i suck lol nah havent go the hang of the "right" time to go for the steal yet, keep fouling them but iam getting there. yeah the off rebounds are low in this game but i just played the cavs and we both had 15 so maybe its just how they play on the night.

I know these sliders do need work i.e they might be ok to play the mavs , kings and pacers but far to easy with the Hawks bobcats and bulls so il keep tweaking them

Well i need realistic sliders for Superstar difficulty, 8min. quarter.

That would be nice, if someone could post it.

Thanks anyway

If you're a real gun player on superstar, use fgrep's for sure.

I'm pulling awesome games from them with realistic stats across the board. Scores are generally from 80's-115's ... depending on how the game pans out between yourself and the CPU.

{edit: These sliders were based on those of fgrep15, just tweaked}

 I didnt select any plays for the cpu and just ran basic plays like "motion" "pick and roll" and "basket cut" which worked out great for players like T-mac and Yao, they took shots like they would in real life.

 The cpu only took good threes like when they were wide open or the shot clock was running down, also if you go for the steal all the time then they will more than likely take them or dish off to an open man.

If somebody else could try these sliders and they me know if there ok please.

Thanks.

I lowered the short medium and long field goal ratings to around 45,45,45 for the user and 40,40, 34 for the cpu you would get realistic scores.

Interception is too high, you'll get too many steals during the game

I hope next year they add a running jumper when you press layup from farther away, and also make the runner look nicer, it's ugly, and also have the runner go in more than 1 out of 7 times  or without you making the poor release slider relaly high.

Thu Nov 04, 2004 7:28 pm

question: I want to increase the amount of dunks. I get those silly layups around the basket when clearly a dunk would have been the preferred option especially with a player with good dunk rating.
should I change the "User Dunk vs. Lay-up Frequency" ?

Thu Nov 04, 2004 10:19 pm

Hey fgrep15, what about sliders for people, who don´t want to play 12 min. quarters? Could you make some for 8 or 10 min. quarters? Thx in advance.

Do you have it at 35?

The last bunch of sliders have worked pretty well.

Only have one major complaint, seems to be the same through all of them... possibly a ratings issue? The 3 point makes/attempted stat is totally unrealistic. At the end of one of my dynasty seasons, Brent Barry had taken 817 3's in one season. That close to 10 per game, which is frikkin ridiculous. Will turning the cpu's 3 point make ability down fix this?

Don't know :?

Here are some stats, 12 minutes with my sliders:

Code:
Pistons              Pacers [Me]
101       Points       91
41          Reb        49
12         Assts       21
7           Stl        2
14          Blk        0
15         Fouls       10
9        Turnovers     8
41/92       FG         37/89
44.6%       FG%        41.6%
10/21       3PT        0/7
47.6%      3PT%        0%
9/11         FT        17/19
81.8%      FT%         89.5%
9         Off Reb      10
32        Def Reb      39

Player of the Game
Ben Wallace: 9 points [4-9], 12 rebounds [4 off], 1 assist, 4 blocks, 4 steals, 39 minutes

Other Players Stats:

Rip: 22 points [11-22], 2 rebound, 3 assists, 36 minutes
Billups: 16-4-4 [7-19], 33 min
Hunter: 17 points, 14 mins, 7-11
Tayshaun: 15 points [6-14], 4 rebounds, 38 min
Delfino: 10 points [3-8], 15 mins
Rasheed: 8 points [2-4], 5 rebounds, 4 blocks, 29 minutes

Jermaine O'neal [off bench]: 25 points [10-14], 7 rebounds, 19 minutes
Bender: 21-4-1 [9-14], 20 minutes
Croshere: 16 points, 12 rebounds [5-17], 30 minutes
Artest: 9-2-3 [4-14], 31 minutes
Stephen Jackson: 6-4-3 [2-3], 27 minutes
Tinsley: 8 points [4-9], 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 33 minutes

The game was good, but Hunter was hogging , I put JO and Reggie down the depth chart because they're injured in real life, but JO still got minutes and was hitting jumpers off SJax and Artest drives all day.

I'll play a crappy team and post the numbers later....

Fri Nov 05, 2004 6:23 am

Damn thats pretty close to what I'd expect from those 2 teams. The 3 pointer thing has me stumped though. when I played against the bobcats(the team Barry was on), he had a good, but normal night. He had like 22, and went 4-6 from three point area, which is can happen anyday. But when im not playing games, the cpu just screws things up. Think about it how can you make 363 3's in a season? hitting 200 in a year is a major accomplishment, along the 650 assist or 200 steal mark. and If he's hitting all these three's, shouldnt he have been in the scoring race?

I'm lost on this one, Kudos if someone can figure this out. :?

Fri Nov 05, 2004 7:37 am

How many MPG was he playing?

Code:
Bulls              Pacers [Me]
103       Points       105
46          Reb        41
24         Assts       23
10          Stl        10
4           Blk        4
17         Fouls       9
20       Turnovers     16
47/101      FG         44/84
46.5%       FG%        52.4%
4/22        3PT        5/11
18.2%       3PT%       45.5%
5/9         FT         12/17
55.6%       FT%        70.5%
19        Off Reb      11
27        Def Reb      30

Player of the Game:

Croshere: 14 points [7-11], 14 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 blk, 1 stl, 2 TO, 33 minutes

Other Players Stats

E.Curry: 23 points [11-15], 11 rebounds [5 off], 1 blk/stl, 3 turnovers, 32 mins
Chandler: 19 points [9-16], 13 rebounds [6 off], 2 blocks, 39 mins
Deng: 17-5-3, 1 block, 4 steals, [8-16], 38 mins
Nocioni: 9-4-2, 1 steal, [4-8], 32 mins
Hinrich: 16 points [6-24], 3 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, 4 turnovers, 40 mins
Pargo: 2 pts, 5 assists, 8 mins
Gordon: 6-3-3, [3-4], 14 mins

Jermaine [off bench]: 13-2-2, 1 block, [6-10], 17 mins
Bender: 21-5-2, 1 stl, 3 TO, [7-11], 21 mins
SJax: 19 points, 2 assists, 2 blocks, [7-19], 37 min
Tinsely: 9 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 stl, 3 turnovers [4-5], 33 min
Artest: 19-4-1, 3 turnovers, [8-20], 33 mins
Pollard: 0-11-1, 2 steals, [0-1], 35 mins

Chicago took a lot of shots, but that was because of all the offensive rebounds they kept getting. Curry, Chandler, and Othella were all killing me on O-Boards

37.8 mpg, he averaged 18.4 ppg.

Make it make even less sense doesnt it? Am I the only one who's experiencing this, or do you have your own issues with it as well?

I like the stats you've posted for both games. The CPU had too many blocks in the first one, but in the 2nd the numbers are good. Also the numbers of 3pt attempts for the CPU are good (for NBA Live standards). I'm gonna try playing with your sliders. Thanks.

Fri Nov 05, 2004 6:47 pm

Ey fgrep15,

your sliders work absolutly incredible.
THANKS A LOT !!!

The only thing really sucks is blocked shots.
Even with every player blocking rating down to zero it's still too much I think.
But in this case it's rather a mistake by EA than yours. So never mind !

Thanks again...

I really like this version of nba-live. I think we get some realistic gameplay. More realistic than the past two versions I think. Another things that comes to my mind is defensive pressure on point guard.
Did anybody of you guys find a way to lower the pressure on the PG. CPU is pressuring too much so that I have to pass the ball to my SG preventing 8 second violation.

Best regards

HI!

The sliders makes the game better.

BUT. An important thing. (Question )

I played a match vs the miami. I play with Philadelphia.
And at the end of the 4th quarer I was watching the gamestats.
MIAMI HAS ONLY 12 AST.

And an other game (vs the denver) are about 13 -15 ast. WHATS THIS.
The opponent team have always low number of assists.

I saw (here in this topic) your gamestats, which you 've posted.
There are two "12assist game".

WHAT CAN WE DO ?

(sorry for my english :-)

some comments on your slider fgrep15:

1. too easy to offensive rebound. in one game lakers vs. houston. i (lakers) had 21 rebounds while the pc has only 6. In the other game, 76ers vs. utah i managed to grab 18 off.rebounds while the pc has only 4.

2. pc very few assist ( i dont know what to adjust to improve this)

3. pc very few inside play. example, i played indiana (me) vs. miami. and shaq took only 7 shots in 8 minute quarter. is there anything we can adjust to improve this?

4. too much pressure on the point guard (not realistic)
