Well I just verified on the Gamestop.com and AMazon.com sites that the PC version appears to be a bit delayed until October 12, 2004. Ug, well, I'm kind of bummed out but there's nothing you can do. Better that they get things tightened down and late...

...bummer.

I just pre-ordered my copy of Live 2005 at EB Games. My store here in Australia said they expect it in on October 24th. And the price is only $89.95 instead of $99.95 like you would expect to pay at a place like Harvey Norman.

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! I'm going to trade in NBA 2K3 and NBA Live 2002 and I will get Live 2005 for just $49.95.

PC: October 26 - MORE PC FEATURES?

Postby john on Fri Sep 24, 2004 5:49 am

Sorry fellas, looks like we're gonna have to wait until end of October - basically Nov.

The guys over at nbalive.org have confirmed this. They say that the PC version is essentially a port of the consoles. The consolation, they say, is that at least it'll give EA more time to include features that won't appear on consoles... so I hope EA adds features like being able to save movies, include in-game saves, etc... EA, are you listening?!!

they wont add anything new to the pc version other than updated rosters. this lack of pc basketball games keeps giving us pc live players the shaft

The PC version is inherently better anyways. Better graphics, more save space, easier to customize/configure (patches). That should be good enough, I think.

rofl just like last year a week before the official release the pc release date gets delayed again by 3 weeks so instead of early october its the 28th of october ah well i kinda figured that would happen EA and release dates rofl they dont give a shit they have the only BBall game on PC so even if they released it during the next playoffs it would still sell the same numbers

They won't even add that. Every version of Live for pc that has shipped later than the console versions has had the same rosters.

Not true. The rosters for the PC and N64 versions of NBA Live 2000 were quite different (the former's being more up to date), the PC version of NBA Live 2003 included Yao Ming and some more up to date transactions, while the PC version of NBA Live 2004 included some more free agents, did not include a couple of the free agents that were in the PS2 version and had a couple more transactions. The cutoff date for the PC version is generally a little later than the date for the console versions.

Why will the PC version released so much later than the console version?

Yes. I live in Toronto, ON and I have been calling a lot of my local EB Games stores and they're telling me the PS2 release is still Oct. 6th, and that the XBOX release is on the 29th. I've been calling all weekend so I'm just going to call on the 29th and see which console releases they actually got in. If they didn't receive the PS2 releases, I'll just wait till Oct. 6th, which definitely sucks :x .
