Duncan, Bosh & Rose...& that Carter guy that's on New Jersey now...yeah, he's pretty cool too!!

Thu Feb 17, 2005 7:51 am

Yeah I like Darko too, I don't use him at the offensive end, I just use him to roam the paint on defense and get rebounds.

Thu Feb 17, 2005 12:55 pm

i just got Mcdyess. think he sucks. cant even do a hop step, all he did is the drop step thing even if he is above the freethrow line. but yesterday he scored 23 points 9 reb 2 asst for me. i was shocked. he dunk more often since that game. so now i inserted him to the line up alongside yao and tmac. our power rankings move by 4 and i won 3 games straight with the guy.

chris camen is awesome

i dont even pay attention to him all game  yet he still ends up with about 6 points and 14 rebounds every game.

C - One Word: Shaq. I know, it's almost cheesy to play with him. But it just feels so real. Posting up the defender, ramming your elbow in his chest, then slam the rock right into his face. And there's nothing they can do about it.
C - Chris Andersen. He's such a tough shot blocker with high jumping and blocking ratings. And he can dunk it on the offensive end, too. Unlike most other centers, he can do the pro-hop, which makes him more effective on fast breaks.
PF - Mike Sweetney. He is a rebounding machine. I once had him play at center in my dynasty and he outrebounded the opposing center every time.
PF - Jerome Beasley. Very much like Sweetney, just a little quicker. Less powerful.
PF - Joe Smith. His light shines again. :D In my Milwaukee dynasty, he led the league in rebounding with almost 20rpg. He can also score down low, block the shot and take out his defender by speed.
SF - Josh Smith. I was really surprised by that guy. His post shooting(and dunking of course) is awesome. He can even hit some treys, but they're not really his main weapon. Grabs a whole lotta boards for a SF.
SF - Tim Thomas. He hits the three every time you find him open on the perimeter. In my dynasty he averaged an above-50% three point percentage, hitting between 4-6 three-pointers a game. And he can slam. Man...
SG - Flip Murray. He is mister pain-in-the-ass. He's quick, fast, can handle the ball pretty well, has quick hands, makes no dumb turnovers, hits open shots and even finds the open man when there's no way to the basket. Which happens quite often, because of his only weakness - he's a bit undersized. That is why I always let him guard the opposing PG.
SG - Kyle Korver. First of all, I like his looks. Give him a headband and you'll always pass the rock to him first, because he looks so damn cool. There is no doubt that he is one of the best pure shooters in the NBA nowadays. Just check his stats. Incredible. It's a shame that he's a little slow. I just use screens to get him open, then BAM!
PG - I do not like star PGs. That is why I always trade for some cheap rookies at the point position. Like Delonte West. I know, he's an SG by default, but he seems to fit more into this position. I use him to slow down the speed of the game, dribble around the perimeter, then either pass it inside for the easy two or call for the screen, spin around the help defender and take a wild shot from about 14-18 feet which hits the target surprisingly often.
PG - Brevin Knight. He is fast, steals the ball at every 2nd opponent's posession (if I wanted to  ) and he's cool because he's so small. 'Nuff said. 8-)

found my new favourite player tonight
rasheed wallace

i was playing some guy online with the suns and i absolutely f'd him up with rasheed without even trying. finished the game w/ 23 points 10 boards and 5 assists and i wasn't even trying to get him those stats; he would just rock them in the post and in the perimeter. his help defense was awesome as well

Sun Feb 20, 2005 1:29 am

I love to play with T-Mac, he absolutely a kick-ass player... Outstanding all-around game, tall, can shoot from deep, blocks, steals, passes well... 8-)

Sun Feb 20, 2005 11:49 am

C- Camby is a monster on the board and an awsome shot blocker. I like Shaq, but $30
million just ain't worth it
PF- Gasol, i signed him during off season, i was planning to trade him, but i tried him out
for a few games and i love him. i get 20+ points and 10+ reb for just 8 million!!
SF- not my favorite position to play but i have LBJ. Pretty good player.

SG- Larry Hughes/ Joe Johnson, i use Hughes for the defense, dunks and some
shooting. and i use Johnson for his 3 point shootings. Both are great.
PG- Wade, no need to explain....

ps i think Stromile Swift's jump rating is WAY underrated. He is one of the highest jumpers in the NBA, and there is no way Odom and jump higher than him...

and you forgot one thing.........that guy can slam the ball like there's no tomorrow he even did a 360 in the face of shaq in one of my games and scored 64 points in a 9 minute quarter dynasty,

LeBron. The kid will go on a tear and then theres no stopping him. Plus he's a great passer. And not to mention the tight D.

Tue Feb 22, 2005 6:31 am

lebron is so underrated in the default. yea hes 83 ovrl but his shooting is in the 50s... plus he could be a high 80s low 90s ovrl... hes that good. and his fg should be low 70s, his 3 mid 60s. and his passing should be high 80s or 90s, and his jump should be 99 and his dunk should be 60 he shouldnt hav a dunk icon :D he does the same damn dunk every time its not even hard... like he had a WIDE OPEN lane yesterday and no1 was closer then 10 feet from him and he did this boring ass dunk that he does every time. hes not a great dunker, jus a high jumper. thats y he didnt do the dunk contest, he knew he would lose

Tue Feb 22, 2005 8:09 am

I've tweaked LeBron to exactly how I want him.

Tue Feb 22, 2005 10:48 am

That is true, he does do the same dunk basically every time in games. But it does show his power/hops well. If he was doing huge windmills and things in games he'd problably A)Miss some B)Be called a showboater (although he is "The Next Jordan", so maybe not)

Tue Feb 22, 2005 1:52 pm

but jordan did a whole lot of array of dunks compare to lebron. but anyways he's the closest i have seen which reminds me very well of the basketball great MJ

Tue Feb 22, 2005 3:44 pm

well yea i agree wit u guys. lebron should hav a 99 jump rating but a 70 dunk rating. hes not a great dunker, hes a good dunker. but he is a great leaper... and probably the most athletic player in the nba.

even vince carter at his age does cool dunks in games. vince has done 360s and windmills and creative stuff like that. lebron jus always goes up and throws it down wit his right hand. ive only seen like 1 other dunk that lebron has done... and that was the one dwyane wade did in the all star game... wade does a lot more then lebron does in games

as for the main topic: my fav players to use in this game:

Shawn Marion---hes just a beast. he hits 3s, fgs, inside, he dunks so well, he jumps so high, he has a steal icon, he can block shots... hes jus sick. i luv to catch and shoot wit him around the elbow, its wet. he can also dribble so he can take any SF/PF to the hoop and get to the line. in my 2nd season of my dynasty he moved up from 87 to 92 overall, and has a 3 pt icon, a dunk icon, and a steal icon. hes jus sick. leadin the team wit 23.4 PPG... of all the players on the suns i was gonna trade marion 1st in my dynasty... but then wen i started seein how good he is i decided to make him the franchise player along wit amare... and now marion is 1 of my fav players in real life too... hes jus so 8-) 8-) 8-)

came to think about it...i never saw a guy in Live with the exact 4 icons..the dunk, the 3,the block, and the great defender.....think i saw AK47 with 3 icon too. and yes i played against shawn marion and he too has the 3 icons in my dynasty. anybody got a guy that has all te 4 icon package?

Darrel Armstrong- Sparkplug for points off the bench, breaks energy and enthusiasm to any defense. In 15 minutes per game he has averaged 8.9 pts 1.6 rebounds 3.7 assists and 3.67 steals and pretty decent percentages too. He can also go coast to coast quicker than alot of PGs.

Shawn Bradley- His size alone is intimidating on the court and he has the best steal rating for any big man out there. If you stand infront of the inbounds pass with Shawn Bradley chances are you will get a steal. In about 15 minutes per game as well Bradley has averaged for me 4.5 pts 5.3 rebounds 1.2 assists 0.44 steals 2.33blocks.

Josh Howard- Steals rebounds blocks, he does it all. And whenever you take your center of powerfoward out of the game you can be happy to leave Josh Howard in because he will rebound for you and defend the other teams best guard. In 34 minutes per game he averages around 11.7 pts 5.7 rebounds 4.0 assists 2.19 steals and .59 blocks.. Against small teams you can also play Josh Howard at PF for a few minutes.

yeah, I got:
C - Okafor
PF - Odom
SF - Marion
SG - Kobe
PG - Gordon
Marion + Odom are just defensive wall! marion 7-8spg, plus gordon with assist, okafor and odom to rebound, kobe to shoot! damn, my team is unstoppable!

No need to bring back this thread.

Why not ?

Sun Mar 27, 2005 12:03 am

My favourites are (I'm playing with the default rosters):
Jason kapono: Hits every open three, can create his own shot too.
Kyle Korver: Same as Kapono, just a bit slower
Josh Childress: No one can stop his drive, he's my leading scorer and the league leader in free throws.
Every tall player with bad ratings: They are so easy to play defense with, almost all 7,4 players (and taller) are monsters on the boards and great blockers

Sun Mar 27, 2005 2:20 am

i hav a knicks dynasty and the players most fun to play wit are:

mike sweetney, trevor ariza, tim thomas

sweetneys fatness is funny cause hes so large but for some reason i like goin down on the block to him... and ariza is cool cause hes a challenge to score wit cause he has low shooting ratings (60 fg 60 3pt)... but hes got a dunk and steal icon so i luv gettin the steal and runnin down court and jammin it home... and the most hated knick player---> tim thomas for some reason is fun to play with as hes not that fastest kat on the block yet hes a good dunker and at 6'10 has got loooong ass arms and knocks down contested 3s consistently...

Sun Mar 27, 2005 9:58 am

I like Ron Mercer! :D

Jeff Foster
Dikembe Mutumbo

This is kind of off topic but in NBA Live 2002 me and my friend dominated with Even Eschmeyer. That was gangsta.
