The dim light is in prac_lightmap.fsh. It's rather hard to explain, but yea, the basis is copy most of the files that are for the stadium of that court and rename it to the proper name that is used my the practice court...

I've managed to make it look decent now by the way... :)

Thanks Andres :)

Cant wait for the release. Patchers like you are the ones who are setting examples in this community, do new things and do them new ways, using the tools they have in the limits set by programs or engines, getting the maximum possible out of each and every detail. Not just artistic quality but also technical intelligence.

Respect

Also about the lightmap thing, no worries about not explaining. Im a cgi artist, have been on 3ds max for a good few years and also have good knowledge about game engines, I know how to use it, just that I didnt know where to look ;)

Thanks Chris; I appreciate it. :)

I've stumbled across some trouble.
In fact, every court in NBA Live 2005 (except for the default practice courts) is using the 'taud4'. The size of the patch isn't a problem since I've managed to compress the installation down to 4,6mb. But the problem is that I'm afraid that it will take away the atmosphere from the regular games. Since what I do is I make the taud4 exclusive for the practice court, I had to change all the courts to use the taud3 instead on the places where it normally uses taud4. That will result in a little less variation in the crowd I believe and make the atmosphere worse... So there might have to still be a crowd after all. I wouldn't want to ruin the overall feel of the actual game.

I will try a few more methods of getting the crowd away without changing anything on the other courts. Although it doesn't look too bright.

Nevertheless you could make a patch that gives practise court without crowds, and another patch that adds them back on all as in the original. I dont think such a change is a big deal when the player has the option to do both...

Nevertheless, how did you do so that all other courts use just taud3? Changed the filename someplace? Woudlnt it be then possible to add your own texture named taud5 and change practice court using that one? I know Im chasing wind here, and probably the filenames are hardcoded, but still...

I will see if I can make some sort of installation that let's you choose. Although I think I need to make two different installers in that case, and I'd rather not.

I hex-edited all the courts' _trans.ebo files. And as I said above, I can't add or remove any new crowd files, when I do that I get the purple missing texture bug.

Check first post (y)

I wrote:Read this before installing the patch.
The deal with the crowd/no crowd is that I had to change one of the crowd-files that are used for all courts so that the practice court could be without, that lead to that I had to remove that specific piece of crowd from all the stadiums. This will not affect the game’s performance nor will it look noticeably different unless you’re actually staring at the crowd while playing. If you would rather not remove that part of the crowd I suggest you go with the compact installation...

alanm, try uninstall the patch by running the unins000.exe file that is in your main NBA Live folder.
After that you can either try to install it without the crowd again or just go with it to have with crowd.

Thanks again guys (y)

No. It would take to much time and I'm to lazy to do it. I also don't see the point of it.
Look on MSN and I'll hook you up with the other request... (y)

MSN has not been working for me either. It keeps giving me an error code and is getting kind of annoying.

Anyways, this court is awesome (Y) I like the White lined ball with the transparency in it.

This is odd. I have that same problem, but the weird thing is that there file is already updated and there is no sign of that specific crowd in it. :?
I'll have another look at it tomorow...

I have fixed the problem and it will be included in the next version. (y)
Although I don't feel that a small fix would be a reason for a new update, so I would like some tips on how I could improve the patch even more...
