WTF does that mean, I have a legal copy too?

Since shoes.viv is mentioned it probably means it can only affect the original shoes.viv. You probably have DANet or Seraph's shoe patch installed so it won't install. It also might not install anything if it can't install everything.

So what I'm saying is copy those files mentioned off your CD and then try installing the patch.

Does anybody have the problem of when u try to save gamestats it freezes your game? Where does it save game stats at also?

Thanks...I was able to download the file but after trying to run the exe file I got an "old file not found error and the contents of the file dont match".

Why is that? Anybody experience the same error?

did u install like any patches like danet's 2x shoe patch or update ur loading screen? if u did then it will give u that message...

Nope I didnt install those patches. Hmm...I just remembered that I installed the Molten ball patch. If thats the one causing the error, how do I fix that without reinstalling the game again?

nba2005.exe
\fe\screens.viv
\sgsm\common\xshoes.viv

I seems that only this 3 files are updated with the patch and I think that you have made changes to one of this files so the patch will not install.

I had the same problem and I replaced the 3 files on my hard disk with the original ones form the CD and after this the patch installation worked properly.

i have both espn 2k5 and nba live 05.. i think espn's gameplay and all that shit is better, but for live 05 , its just the slam dunk contest that makes it seem better

Why cant you copy those 2 files from the cd? Its zipped inside disk 2, unzip them and copy them on to your NBA 2005 folder then its done.

I manually installed the patch successfully, but this is the only one that isn't fixed. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

i did everyrthing, but I think is because i replaced the original game with the cracked version...imma do taht right now, thanks for your help

Yea, some of the stuff is kinda hidden. Like now there's a button on the bottom to view the game stats. Maybe the patch has an issue if you have previously installed a custom patch. I dont have any other patches installed on my game.

There are diffrent patches for diffrent country versions of the game
