plus u can hang on the rim in 2003. and the replays are cooler with sound effects. and the players scream after awesome dunks. its just better. 2005 has no emotion. its like lifeless or something. im going on friday and trading in 2005 for 2003. ive just been playing the demo as of late but this game is off tha hizzle fow shizzle.

i seem to remember that in 2003, there was no ARENA, there was only a court and stands. 2005 has the total arena, up the the celiing. it has an actual environment, not just a black roof above the players heads.

i will give you that players don't have much expression in 2005. but with how great the cyberfaces are, it would be near impossible to give them all the expressions without seriously degrading the quality of the face.

i, for one, don't miss 2003's players' mouths becoming the size of grapefruits every time they threw down a dunk.

Hmmm...2003 was a good game...until 2004 & now 2005 are here!!! I've spent hours playing 2003 & I loved every single minute of it...okay, along came 2004 & I was like "woah"!! It was good but not as good as I thought it would be compared to 2003...so anyways, I went back to 2003 & to tell you the truth, I missed playing 2004!! So gentlemen, IMO 2004/05 are indeed better games while 2003 is also good...I miss the power-dribble from 2003 though, you always had a choice of going forward or pulling outward with that trick...I also miss the "squaring up" feature before you take a shot from 2003...I think it was L1 & soon as your player dribbled once you hit another button, sort of like a combo, it was a really nice move & it's not in the newer versions!! So anyhow, I hope you kids can resolve your differences & enjoy all versions of NBA Live, no matter which one is better it's just an opinion of one likes & differences...it's keeps the world going round & round & round & round & round & round & round..............................

On the other hand, look at garnett's elbow and forearm...in 2003 they look a way better...you can actually see some veins. Now look at 2005, they don't look that good....

you've mentioned the sounds a couple of times now and its driving me insane to the point where i had to post this; i believe the sounds in 2005 are great, dunks dont sound so arcade-like any more they sound like an actual dunk would sound in the game, players still do scream after doing some dunks, i know this for a fact because i was playing practice mode on 2005 and the player screamed when he was doing the dunk. 2003 IN MY OPINION!!! is garbage to the newer more realistic NBA 2005!

I'm 100% sure that bestclubowner double posted to irritate Donatello, otherwise... I wouldn't know what to say. Anyway, Live 2003 was fun at first, but it is so unrealistic in an "arcadish" sense, and the repetition of easy dunks just made the game boring in the end. Live 2004 and 2005 are more realistic, but I just can't stand the passing in 2005. I took some fraps movies, but I have to compress them. I'll post them up later. My final note about 2003's graphics is that the players are too muscular. I don't think I've seen Jason Kidd that buff, ever.

okay bestclubowner, i didnt want to waste my time responding in this thread but i've been reading along...and wow. if you think the 2003 garnett is better that the one in 05 you are a complete and utter IDIOT!!!!!! the 03 garnett doesnt look anything like him. all it has is kg's cheeckbones and bald head. the 05 garnett is not only the exact model of his face, but the skin is brown, the tattoos are as precise as possible, and his arms dont look like schwarzenegger. kg is supposed to be skinny and dark brown skinned, not buff and green skinned with no tats and a horrible face.

and look into that crowd you're so obsessed with. it's a bunch of dots with color. the arena models were horrible in EVERY live up until 04, so that's not even somethin you can debate.

the 04 commentary has more to offer than 03. the dunks and threes in 03 were ricidulous. i'm not even great at video games and i dominated 03 easily. i once went 82-0 in a season on hardest difficulty level not simming any games.

i dont want to hear your fool as calling me an ea fanboy. truth is i've prefered sega's hoops game for the past 3 years. but if you think 03 is superior is graphics, you are truly an IGNORANT FOOL.

in 05 the players are smaller or something. u cant even get close to the action. the coloring for one is all off. like when u play in 03 the lakers court is colorful but in 05 its all shady, dark, and with this glossy crap all over the players bodies. plus the player models are all off. and the way they run is ridiculous. its like there floating on ice or something. they pass funny. they shoot funny. theres no flow to the game. when u do a cross over its all slow and they barely do it. theres no fast breaks. and it doesnt zoom in all the way when doing a jam like on 03. on 03 the camera like shooked or something when u went in for a jam on baseline low. it was AWESOME. but theres something seriously wrong with the coloring of the 2 games. and seriosuly i have to squint to see the players faces on 05.
