realistic superstar sliders

Fri Oct 29, 2004 6:21 am

Can you put here gelateen sliders please ?

Fri Oct 29, 2004 6:47 pm

I am using fgrep's 12-minute superstar sliders and they are going great guns.

I turned block ability up to 15 for users, and the interception ability down to 5. For the CPU I turned interception down to 20 and that's it so far.

one thing i have noticed is if you leave User Fakeout Discipline set to 100 you can basicly fake out the comp everytime down the court. i think the previously suggested setting of 90 is alot better.

Based on PARED's foundation of sliders, I managed to do a lot of tweaking and I found a nice balance. With these sliders, you'll see a realistic number of fouls, but not many fouls on jumpers, but rather on physical play. Also, the game flow is much better and you should see realistic stats on All-Star mode at 9 minutes per quarter. This is version 1.0 and the link can be found here.

I'm also working on some Human vs Human sliders if anyone needs those, I play with my brother about everyday so I've been testing them, but you definately cannot use the same ones for both Human vs Human and Human vs CPU.

I'll post them later, but set the Simulation Sliders are you Human vs CPU, and the Action as your Human vs Human.

Do you remember what I said about Devin Harris? Well guess what, he's now starting for the Mavs, and JT is coming off the bench, guess he still deserves his 48 FG
I'll do player updates a few games after the season starts.

The new rebounding changes tones down the offensive rebounds, I get too many offensive rebound because if you crash the boards yourself it's not that hard to get them, this balances it out to about NBA level

*Dunk vs Lay-up Frequency*

The slider is backwards.

If you want more dunks, set it to 51-100. If you want more lay-ups, then set it to 0-49.

This is probably why people are not getting big men to dunk in the paint more often.

Someone has realistic sliders for 12min. quarters, in Starter Difficulty???
I´m new...

Just played my regular season game using fgrep's updated superstar sliders for 12 minutes.

Am using Orlando, played Milwaukee first up and I came away a 100-80 winner.

Was happy with stats etc. Nothing seemed out of whack and the game itself played out very realistically.

I still had a number of dunks with Howard, Francis and sometimes Cato. I felt there was a realistic spread of dunks to layups.

Offensive boards wise, I think I had around 12 for the game. CPU same.

CPU had about 5 blocks and I would've been lucky to have 3.

My mate's playing in the same season as Minnesota. I'll let everyone know how the season progresses.

i have a question, im not sure if its simple, but ill give it a try...

if we use realistic sliders... then we have starter, all-star and superstar... wats the difference?

i mean if i sure one set of sliders here... then i played all-star... then i switched to superstar.... would it be harder?

thx.

I got the game on Friday and ive been playing on superstar 12min quarters using fgrep15 sliders for this setting but the cpu has been shooting so many 3's!!
Anyone else got that problem?
Anyway to fix that?

The CPU shoots better on superstar, so you might have to have the shooting sliders down in comparison to All-Star, I think shooting sliders would be the only thing to change, I can't think of anything else.

What teams did you play, and about how many have they been taking?

I'll look into it....oh how tendency sliders would help so much

Mon Nov 01, 2004 4:36 am

Its been with every team ive played so far. There shooting about 20-25 a game, ive been playing around with the team set plays for the cpu teams like somebody did last year.

So far ive got the Clippers playing Motion and the Pacers playing Stagger both plays worked the ball to there star players i.e Brand, O'Neal.
Didnt pay much attention to the first few games i played i was to busy getting my arse kicked!!

Does anybody else have team plays to post?

Have you tried these sliders on superstar 12 minutes?

Mon Nov 01, 2004 8:22 am

mp3 wrote:Have you tried these sliders on superstar 12 minutes?

No, they are designed for 9 minutes or even 10 minutes. I actually haven't tried it in superstar mode, but I hear the CPU is more realistic on all-star mode rather than superstar. If these sliders are too easy on all-star, then you can turn up/down your shooting and the CPU's shooting abilities.

Mon Nov 01, 2004 8:25 am

If thats the case cyanide, I'll prob go back to all-star and use yours

Do you have any settings for all-star difficulty for 12 minute quarters?

I see, the NBA meduim is about 15 three's a game with only a few teams taking 18+, and Seattle taking 24 three's a game, so that's a little much unless it's Seattle, New Orleans, Sacramento or Dallas.

Well, the thing is, if I go to 12 minute quarters, I would have to lower the game speed to keep realistic scores. By lowering the game speed, the tempo and movement would be slower than what you see in a regular NBA game, and that would make the game boring and frustrating.

Yo mp3, I haven't had that problem at all.

The CPU will certainly take a lot of triples if you leave them unguarded on the outside, but they will back off a fair bit if you play up in their face (although they will still shoot a few in-your-face bombs).

At least that's what I've gathered from my observations anyway.

Mon Nov 01, 2004 7:47 pm

I was working on some sliders of my own last night, i used them to play the first quarter of two random games kings v spurs and pacers v mavs.
Both the pacers and spurs shot 23 & 26 threes when i played them, in the two first quarters i played the the pacers shot 4 3's while the spurs shot just 2!!

Il be trying these sliders full game later today, if they work ok then il post them here.

Mon Nov 01, 2004 10:20 pm

Ive tried my new sliders and they work great.

I played the Rockets in my Knicks Dynasty, here are the team stats...

Code:

82          points         99
59         rebounds        42
12           assists       17
5            blocks        9
3             steals       8
15           fouls         24
22         turnovers       8
28/80            fg       44/105
.350             fg%       .419
3/14             3's       4/15
.214            3%          .267
23/36            ft          7/10
.639             ft%       .700
9            off reb         6
52           def reb        36

{edit: These sliders were based on those of fgrep15, just tweaked}

 I didnt select any plays for the cpu and just ran basic plays like "motion" "pick and roll" and "basket cut" which worked out great for players like T-mac and Yao, they took shots like they would in real life.

 The cpu only took good threes like when they were wide open or the shot clock was running down, also if you go for the steal all the time then they will more than likely take them or dish off to an open man.

If somebody else could try these sliders and they me know if there ok please.

Thanks.

Tue Nov 02, 2004 3:16 am

When I played on fgrep's sliders (Memphis vs. Portland) the score was 117-108, that was pretty high, but the Grizzlies are a fastbreaking team. As for the CPU play they gave the ball to Anderson most of the time to shoot outside and I notice in real life that DA does shoot alot of shots. The other times, they gave the ball downlow to Randolph and Stoudamire would pull up for some 3's at times. So playing wise the game was realistic, I will try your sliders out mp3 later on.

Please

Now i need realistic sliders for Starter Difficulty, 5min. quarter.

Thanks

I haven't got the game yet, but id say, Mp3, your steals were a little low, only for your team though, and your offensive rebounds for each team, and do you usually shhot below 40% or was it just a one off game?
