Hello all, just downloaded the rosters. Very good work, the game runs well, but all of the players have pink heads! Also most of the newer portraits failed to show up. The portraits that did show up look taken from the original game data: basically players with 8+ years of NBA experience... Did I maybe install wrong?

Either the art was misplaced or you downloaded the roster only version, which as the name implies only contains the rosters and not all of the required art. If it's the former, please see Art Troubleshooting.txt for more information. If it's the latter, please download the full update.

I'm not sure where to find an ArtTroubleshooting.txt, and I did download the entire patch but forgot the agefix, could that be it?

This is how the patch installed, (I use a mac and play the game off Wineskin) The New Folder in the middle is where the files extracted. Is this the right way?



EDIT: tried the agefix but it wouldn't install on the mac because it needs to run a windows program that wineskin doesn't support. I'm thinking maybe installing the full patch on my old XP comp and then transferring the files, it should work, just would take about an hour with the speed of that thing lol.

Yeah, the files definitely went to the wrong place originally, which I assume is because you're on a Mac rather than a PC.

Game runs well now though, so thanks again for the updates... I'll eagerly await the next one! I love the fast pace and arcade-like feel of the early NBA live, and I'll be rocking my new Westbrook/Harden/K. Leonard/A. Davis/M. Gasol team in Dynasty for awhile

Any patch of crowd sounds nba live 2007 in nba live 2005?. It's more realist "defense, defense" in the ultimate minutes.

1 Year and 2 Months Waiting for Rosters Update.

It's bratty posts like that which have made the rosters such a chore these past few years. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time to make roster updates these days, and an attitude like that really doesn't encourage me to try and make time.

PLZ, make the 2013\2014 rosters. Because season is over, i need basketball playing. !

Checking on this thread after a long break, I'd like to personally thank you @Andrew for your work on this game. Can't even begin to tell you how much it meant for me over the years, had a lot of memories with this game which i played over such a long time thanks to your updates

As I've mentioned before, I don't have the time to work on roster updates or much else these days, hence no releases in quite some time. That hasn't changed; sorry! However, as I mentioned in Episode #88 of the NLSC Podcast, I did create a small fix for my own use while capturing some screenshots to update the galleries in our subsites, as well as our image library for feature articles. As such, I figured I'd share it with the community, in case it's of any use to anyone else.

The fix in question is a workaround for the issue of the hide/show overlay button remaining on screen when taking screenshots in Instant Replay. What I've done is replace the hover effect texture with a transparent texture, so that the button effectively disappears when you mouse over it. As such, with the fix in place, you can position the camera however you like, then click the button to hide the overlay and keep the mouse pointer hovering over the now invisible button. Hit F12 to take a screenshot without that pesky button showing up down in the right hand corner.

While I don't have time to patch NBA Live like I used to - particularly current roster updates - I do have a few unreleased updates in my archives, and some stuff that I've been working on for the 20th Anniversary of NBA Live. So, look out for a few releases here and there, when I get some time.

Today's release is a new version of the NBA Team Logos Bootup Screen. I've actually uploaded two versions; the current version, v8.0, contains logos for the 2014/2015 season. You can also select v7.0 from the dropdown menu, which is accurate as of the 2013/2014 season. Enjoy!

Another little fix/workaround, for anyone who runs into issues with Windows 7.

NBA Live 2005 Task Killer (Windows 7 Fix)

When exiting NBA Live 2005 in Windows 7 or above, occasionally the game's executable process will not be properly ended and will still show up among the running processes in the Task Manager. When this happens, you will usually find that you're unable to relaunch the game, or install/launch another version of NBA Live, until the process has been ended.

This batch file will manually end the NBA Live 2005 executable process from the command line, and is intended to be a quick and easy fix that saves the user from having to open the Task Manager with Control+Alt+Delete. It may be a preferable alternative for users who are not particularly knowledgeable about troubleshooting Windows.
