Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

Jon, I got everything to work. Dunno if you got my PM...nbaliveforums are offline often.

Exhibition mode works...with cyberfaces, portraits etc.

But when I want to play a season or dynasty everything crashes after some simulated games. I got this error:

Yeah, I just replied.

Strangely, I loaded NLSC 07-08 and ran a dynasty just fine, and I haven't touched it at all. I will upload my current, original and workingdb folders to see how it works.

It should be up to the Penny Hardaway release...but I couldn't find Luke Jackson anywhere for signing to Miami.

I only used cyberfaces, the roster and portraits.
No jerseys, no new courts. It works in exhibition mode but not in dynasty. But I think the jerseys are not the problem, are they? As they work in exhibition mode.

Jerseys and courts (outside of GS) should work fine, as long as the courts and jerseys have the missing .vivs.

Barto, you have PM ;)

Why does the game crash in season or dynasty mode?

That's what I'm trying to figure out ;)

I think I had a problem like that a while ago too.

EDIT: Uploaded my currentdb and originaldb folders here. Paste these into your saves/database and then try creating a dynasty without loading NLSC 07-08 roster. Did overwrite a couple of recent transactions, but...

Thanks.

Without loading NLSC 07/08? Which roster should I load instead?

I read somewhere that a roster crashed due to missing 0s in the playerdbf. Maybe this is the reason.

I tried your db...didn't work. I pasted the origdb to database/orig... and current db to database/current...
Moreover, I pasted the current db to saves/test.
Didn't load test roster. Did not work. Loaded test roster. Didn't work either.

I uninstalled the game and deleted everything.

Please tell me what to do to get the game working, with latest roster, cyberfaces and portraits.

I don't need aiact, jerseys and courts.

Actually, I'm totally clueless. I did have this problem a while back, only I can't remember how I fixed it.

Try dumping the original birthdate.dbf into some folders, I THINK it's how I fixed it.

Jon It still doesn't work. :( I tried all you said. It is really strange when it works for you but not for me. Maybe we do have different files or some misunderstandings.

Please read my list.

1) I installed Live 2005.
2) I updated Live 2005 (check for update...EA).
3) I downloaded your files in the first post of this thread.
4) I copied the NLSC0708-folder to C:\...\NBA Live 2005\saves. (windows xp is on c:
5) I copied all big files (portraits) and cyberfaces to E:\...\... .... the game is installed on E:. Copied them to the sgsm folder. I copied the viv file of players to fe...and overwrote it.
6) I did not use AIACTS, jerserys or courts.

Well...everything works but not in season or dynasty mode.

I found other stuff for Live 2005 where you had to but ONE single file into the db-folder...which I did not do for YOUR files....maybe this is the problem?

read the thread again. you might find someone who had a problem with the rosters ;)
Mr. Floppy wrote:nice compilation.

problem is the same i've had with pretty much every roster...

missing 0's in the players.dbf
...
...
...

so what you do is: (be sure to backup before)
1. open players.dbf
2. search the colummns "injurydate" and "recovrdate"
3. enter 0s in, so you have 2 columns of 0s (best thing would be to use a bdf editor (google to find one), since excel sometimes seems to do stupid things when you save...)
4. save the files ;)
5. h00ray, you're done :D

have fun playing and a happy new year ;)
please don't ask me why this happens. i don't know. nobody knows i guess :D

(i hope this will be the last time i have to write this :D)

Thanks, I'll try that. Well...there are no 0s in these two columns. Only about 5% have a 0 in it.

Is there another way apart from filling in hundreds of 0s manually, one by one? :(
(I use DB commander pro trial)

well. i use openoffice.

that let's you enter a lot of 0s in one step.
but so far it seemed to make errors when i saved the file.
worked a few days ago. don't ask me what i changed. i don't know.

if that doesn't work i can upload the edited files somewhere if that's ok with jonthefon and the guys who created the roster

Well, it's not my roster...RyanP or Seushiro (one of them converted it) did this one, but I'm not sure where they are...I think Andrew's fine with any further release of his rosters for another game providing he is credited.

easiest thing would be to open working players.dbf (in openoffice or sth) and compare the columns.

Damn. I just typed in dozens of 0s and it still crashes.
There is a column with injury ID. I filled in date and recovery date but there are still some spaces with nothing. I try that. Injury Ids with 0s.
