CMMT1:
young.jesel.87@gmail.com
thANks
CMMT2: the hair files you sent me, whats the difference? is the one "with hair" adds more back hair? cause i thought that you were going to add more hair on top.
edit: ive seen posts for getting the reflection for skin. but how do i do it for the face/head so i get it on the floor reflection? do i just use the same file, but make it down to 16x16 and rename the file with the r at the end? cause i tried that and i ended up with a "ghastly-like" face. something like what happened to me before when i tried adding a mask to rip hamilton. -->

CMMT3: HUMM..so basically you have a floor court thats black and shadows and stuff etc are white?

ignore the two png files. put headband.ebo, player.ebo, hair.ebo, goggle.ebo, and player.fsh into the SGSM FOLDER, do not put the png files in there.
i have no idea how reflections in the game done because my graphics card is s shit u cant see reflections, or courts for that matter

edit: great, i cant edit my player's gears, shoes, etc now. whenever i go to create player>edit player and go to my player, the game freezes up. what can i do to fix this? its happened to some other rookies too.

i gave u the files with the name JMWHITE, because i was using the rookie james white to test them. rename everything that says JMWHITE with ur players PLYRPKGE, then, open up plyrprts_JMWHITE.big with bigUI and extract those files to the desktop, then rename each of them to ur players PLYRPKG. after u rename them, open the one that says "PLAYER".ebo (that came from the .big file) with fixEDIT or another hex editor. go to the bottom of the page where on the last line it will say JMWHITE1.
click on the J, press edit string, and type in ur plyrpkg. DO NOT OVERWRITE THE 1.
click save and then exit. re open bigui, open up the plyrprts_"YOURPLAYER".big, highlight the 4 files inside it with the name JMWHITE and click the red cross to delete them. then, click import (the inwards arrow) and go to ur desktop and highlight the four files that u extracted there. click ok. wen they are inside click the R (rebuild) button 4 or 5 times until the numbers stop changing. then put ur plyrprts_"YOURPLAYER" back into ur sgsm folder.

so after all that, i should be able to see my portrait and be able to edit my player with shoes, gear, etc. right?
Mon Jul 17, 2006 8:22 am
yea. does the game crash to desktop when u select edit player and choose you?
Mon Jul 17, 2006 8:25 am
well, it doesnt go to desktop. just that when i select me, it reaches near the end of the loading line then it freezes. then i usually switch back to desktop and hit ctrl+alt+del to bring up the task manager and close NBA Live 2005.
Mon Jul 17, 2006 8:52 am
ok. those steps will fix that

does everything that i need to rename be in caps or it doesnt matter if its caps or not? well, except for the portrait file i know that has to be caps.
EDIT: where do i find edit string in Hex Workshop?
"go to the bottom of the page where on the last line it will say JMWHITE1.
click on the J, press edit string, and type in ur plyrpkg" what do u mean by that? i mean i understood how you said go to the bottom and find JMWHITE1, but click on what J and where edit string is at?
Mon Jul 17, 2006 1:29 pm
no doesnt need to be in caps.
im not sure, maybe u can just type it without having to click it first?
Mon Jul 17, 2006 1:59 pm
how can i edit skin files? i know theres like only 5 different skin colors ranging from numbers 0-4, but is there a way to edit the skin so that you can adjust to your own liking?
edit: for my in-game, why do i have hair dangling at my sides?
http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/1686/untitledka6.jpg <==(i look like some jamaican dude!)
Mon Jul 17, 2006 2:22 pm
dunno how to edit skin files, but if u change the skin color, the faces color will stay the same. u can delete the hair.ebo file to loose the "jamaican look"
Mon Jul 17, 2006 3:13 pm
yea, i know the faces color will stay the same. i just want to edit the body skin color.
Mon Jul 17, 2006 3:34 pm
create a custom color? or just change the skin
Mon Jul 17, 2006 3:40 pm
you can change the skincolor, but you'd have to edit the skin files. not too hard.. but i am pretty sure you cant' just add another skintone, so if you do change one of the skintones ingame, then you will screw up all the other skintones on other players.
so what i am saying is.. you wouldnt want to do so. I mean that color is probably as close as you can get to your skintone
Mon Jul 17, 2006 4:44 pm
this is what u should have in ur sgsm folder.
PLAYER1.ebo, PLAYER1B_headband.ebo, PLAYER1B_goggle.ebo, PLAYER1.fsh
PLAYER1B_hair.ebo (optional)
*PLAYER1 = Your players PLYRPKG
Mon Jul 17, 2006 4:47 pm
um, i still cant edit my player in create a player. i got the portrait now. i think something is still wrong. ive done what you said and it still freezes when i click on me, when it finishes loading near the end.
edit: i was making an edit
Flite_23 wrote:this is what u should have in ur sgsm folder.

u forgot plyrprts~PLAYER1.big
Mon Jul 17, 2006 4:49 pm
i thought u said u got the player potrait working?
i think u should check players.dbf and check the PLYPKG, then check appearance.dbf and do the same thing, make sure they match
Mon Jul 17, 2006 5:07 pm
to make sure the PLAYERPKG and ID7 matches right?
edit: if it is in that case, then yes they match. i really dont know what else to do to fix this problem. ive changed the jmwhite1 to jolengs1 by this placing the curcor in front of the J in jmwhite and started typing then saved it. and did everything else with the biGUI openig the portraits file deleting the jmwhite files and importing the files on desktop, 4 of them and hit rebuild 3, sometimes 4 times.
Mon Jul 17, 2006 5:13 pm
well u can tell it has nothing to do with the potrait. i cannot think of what coud be causing the problem.
If u can play a game with ur created player fine but not edit, i have no idea whats up.
the only thing i can think of is deleting ur player, making a new one, and going through the process again.
actually, could u delete the hair, headband, .ebo, goggle files and just leave the fsh file and the potrait file in ur sgsm folder and tell me if it lets u get to edit

see?! bam there you go!

i should be reversed with bob cousy's body skin color. look at this:
http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/8797 ... usyul7.jpg <=see? it should be perfect if i had his body skin color only(not his old muscles), and he had my body skin color only. so how can i take his skin color and switch it up?
Mon Jul 17, 2006 5:45 pm
bob cousys skin color is 0.
go to appearance.dbf and change the number under COLOR on ur player to 0
Mon Jul 17, 2006 6:23 pm
tried. doesnt let me edit.
edit: on a small side note, is the file xrms.viv supposed to be in the sgsm folder? if not, wheres it go?
Tue Jul 18, 2006 3:29 am
dunno, i think its supposed to be there
