everything works fine with me when i edit regular players. editing created players also works perfectly well. but when i try to edit generated players, that's when UNABLE TO LOAD THE PLAYER INFORMATION appears.

We need to be able to edit the iscreated fields and such, and the PLAYERID so we can assign face portraits to people...

I want an editor where I can just look at players like a spreadsheet, look at the team as a whole and adjust ratings without having to load a window for each player...

but that would be more navigable than just using an excel for the editor, and that would combine the appearance and players dbf's

Ah I learned how to do panes and split screens in excel...that should do the trick for me.

The trade players feature can cause crashes, as it doesn't update the SALARYTEAM, YEARS_LENGHT and YEARS_REMAIN fields. If you sign free agents using the editor in dynasty mode, the signed players will have weird data on these fields (i.e., 0 years left, $0 salary) so risk of crashing/ruining your dynasty is dramatically high, even critical when next off-season starts.

I suggest to make backups of your dynasty files before trade players using the editor.

any suggestions on how i can repair the cause of the crash even with the use of a DBF editor perhaps?

Are you editing a saved roster and reloading it after you make the changes?

It's better to save a roster and edit those files rather than editing the files in originaldb and currentdb etc. That way you can easily reload the modified rosters from the Load/Save menu.

1. Save a roster in the Load/Save menu
2. Select the appropriate save folder when you open the editor
3. Make desired changes, save them
4. Run the game, load the roster from the Load/Save menu

Pretty big, I can't remember the exact size offhand. I must confess, since I got broadband I often don't take much notice of larger downloads.

Same problem here as everyone else.

If I try to load a real player who was originally in the game (i.e. Grant Hill, Ben Wallace, Shaquille O'Neal, etc...) or a computer generated rookie, it says "Unable to Load the Player Information".

If I try to load a real player who was created by the person who made the roster (a player who wasn't in the game originally, but IS a real person), it works. (i.e. Laron Profit, Mario Kasun, Jared Reiner, etc..).

EDIT: And I have a full install of the game.

That's a question that doesn't really warrant two private messages and an off-topic post. ;) As I said in my PM, I actually got it from another forum. Someone found the original website and posted it in General Talk a while back, but I didn't bookmark it so I don't have the link to give you.

Hey, well I downloaded the first version of this, and downloaded all the neccessary files from Microsoft, but when I downloaded Version 2, I went into the program and went File > Select NBA Live 2005 Folder > nbalive2005. But after that nothing happens, and nothing comes up in the program.

Do you know what the problem is?

Cheers.
