v1.10 released...

Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

Postby Andrew on Sat Apr 09, 2005 6:09 pm

Actually, I do keep up with the NBA statistics and standings. Which players do you suggest improvement in? Rather than just saying I need to improve things, it would be much more helpful if you could offer some more specific suggestions and corrections.

Please note that the simulation engine still needs some work, so players don't always average realistic statistics - that's something I can't really fix as far as I'm aware. However, it's better than the days of Dstats when 38 year old players still put up the same numbers as they did in their prime.

If I can improve the ratings for simulated performance without making him play unrealistically in gameplay, I will. In the meantime, if you have any more specific suggestion for players just let me know.

Thanks for your great job, Andrew! I get the updated patch now.

I wish the following info can help for next version update:

For jersey number update:

2) Scott Williams #47 (CLE)
3) Lionel Chalmers #0 (LAC)
4) Bruno Sundov #14 (NY)
5) Brandon Hunter #34 (ORL)
6) Paul Shirley #17 (PHO)
7) Glenn Robinson #3 (SA)
8) Mike Wilks #11 (SA)
9) Pape Sow #9 (TOR)

For roster update (up to 9 Apr)
1) James Thomas is signed by Hawks for the rest of season

Brendan Haywood: 56% from the field and although he has a poor jumper, he has developed a couple nice go to moves in the post (baby hook). Up FG to 54 (he cannot hit anything w/a 44 FG), inside scoring to 84. DAware to 70.

On the other hand, Etan Thomas deserves a FG around 45.

Lionel Chalmers (LAC) is very quick. Quick to 80.

Troy Bell has a fairly good jumper. Merits a 67 FG. Inside scoring down to 50. Ball handling to 64. Also played several (I believe all 4) years of college ball, so fatigue isn't an issue. Up that to 42.

Superstars who also make super layups deserve better INSC,I think.
If you make LJ 75、T-MAC 74、Parker 70,
I think some other players should be fixed:
Gordon 66;Melo 75;B-Davis 66;Maggette 73;KB 79;WADE 75;VC 70;
Crawford 63;Marbury 68;Francis 65;AI 72;Marion 78;Bobby 68;Manu 74;
Ray 62;Arenas 64;Hughes 64.

Speaking of Ben's inside game, might want to give Ben Gordon a much higher STR rating than 55. He came into the L bench pressing 300.

For rookie comparison, Dwight Howard came into the L bench pressing 185, he's up to 300 now.

Because updating the roster is something I do for free in my spare time and the text updates really weren't that popular.

I'm sorry, but again I'm not getting paid to do this, it's something I do in my free time so I don't see how I'm "supposed" to do it. I don't usually maintain a text roster, this is the first year I've provided one. Sorry, but I'm not doing the text roster updates anymore.

All you need to do is download the PC roster update, open players.dbf with MS Excel and look at the ratings. Or, if you want to order it how I did in the text roster, open it with Access and sort ascending by TEAM and ROSTERPOS.

I'd like to promote th idea of drastically lowering LeBrons dunking rating. With Inside Ticket free, I've seen more of him than I usually do, and I think that his dunks are based on athleticisism rather than pure skill.

Dunking - 79-83
Jumping - 97-98

Well... real NBA season is almost over, primarily i want to ask when NSLC v 1.11 will be release. And i want to give you some advices about NBA REAL LIFE: G.Arenas is just 77 ovrl i think this guy must be 82-85 ovrl just like S.Marbury 85ovrl..., S.Jackson worth better ovrl than 66 he is almost absolute Indiana leader, an average ~19pts, 5rebs. K.Korver need raise up ovrl from 56 to ~60. J.Przybila FG rnk is just 45 he deserve better.. and better blocking rating. K.McLeod and C.Duhon must be more quicker and deserve better FG rating... And i think need adjust New Orleans players ratings..

Sorry, I don't boost ratings simply to adjust the overall, though I can review those players' ratings. v1.11 will be the playoff opening night release, so it will be just around the start of round one (so probably this weekend).

Thanks Joéb, I agree. I'll change his dunk rating in v1.11.

Another thing I just thought of.

How come T-mac has a steal-ability of 66, and Wade of 76 when T-mac averages 1.7SPG and Wade 1.6SPG?

Sure that he (T-mac) has two more games played, but does it warrant a 10point differance?
Maybe also raise his passing ability (or offensive awareness?) does to his assist-to-TO ratio.

Some suggestions, dunno if they're relevant though.
