i guess my question was a bit confusing
what i meant was: how do you come up with all the ratings to a sort of unknown player? what if a NBA team signed Blake Stepp or Christian Drejer today, how would you rate them (all atributes) on the next roster patch?

I assume that Andrew has approximately the same approach than me  :

The College or Europe stats are a first interesting source that you can base your ratings on: you see if the player is a 3 pt shooter, good at FT, if he's more of a scorer than a rebounder ... Of course don't take these stats for granted, obviously you have to relativize, scoring 30 points in NAIA (the lower level of US College), NBDL (minor league) or in Europe won't ensure the player to score 30 points in NBA ... nbadraft.net can be a interesting source of information on the player, if they made a profile on him... Sometimes a quick google search can be very instructive too...

Alexboom has basically explained it for me. Whatever information I can find I use, allowing for differences between college/European/minor leagues and the NBA. When I can't find anything on a player, I do go with fairly generic benchwarmer ratings based on the player's position.

Just amazing patch as always Andrew!!! (Y)
Some appearance suggestions:
Put the DETs away acc. color in red, they've been using it lately.
Cuttino mobleys arm bands --> Left arm: Elbow band / Right arm: Bicep band
Eddie House wears a headband.
Derek Fisher wears a headband too.
Shaq's black knee pads.
And even though in the game Scott Pollard has no hair, you should put a headband on him.
BTW, amazing cyberfaces I hope you continue to put them in the roster. I can't wait for the Stockton one.
Cheers. :)

HI Andrew....
I hope that in the new patch Okur, Jeffries, JR Smith , Harrison ,
and Josh Smith they are a improves to you...
Because..

Okur is a good rimb. , why you have lowered it in those values? rimb off 53 and def 64...i Think that merits something in more...70 in all rimb......

Jeffries is a good player , he plays titular and he's a good rimb. , and a great defender....I hope that you will increase the bounces to it, the defensive
abilities and also something in the 3PT because if it
deserves it...

JR Smith player value is must increases...He play titolar....and FG is low 55.....

Harrison is a Big ShootBlocker Why do u have low it? 58??? minimun 68....

and Josh Smith in NBA Block 1.77 for game....i think that is meritates more 50 in block....

He's only averaging about 7.6 rebounds per game, which is why I lowered his ratings. He's not among the league leaders, thus, he shouldn't have ratings higher than ones that will generate a realistic in-game and simulated performance.

I'll look at JR Smith's ratings, but again, I do not like to boost ratings simply to increase the overall ratings. In the scheme of things, the overall rating is not the most important aspect.

I've already increase Josh Smith's block rating. I will increase Harrison's block rating. I'll take another look at Jared Jeffries as well.

But why u have lowered the rating to Josh Smith at the Rimb? rimb def 40....rimb off 30.....i too low......Josh is a good rimb...he is very atlhetic...i think that merits something in more....

And Okur...7.6 rebound per game it's no bad! in game to nba live 2005....53 and 64...is a not realistic rating....and i think that FG is incrisease....because he have a good hand.....he's the best center that have a good shooting range.....

P.S.: Excuse me for my English....

I don't think I lowered Josh Smith's rebounding rating. In any event, that will have to wait until v1.07.

7.6 rpg is not bad at all, but considering the league leader (KG) is averaging around 15 per game, it's hardly the best in the league. I'll look at Okur's ratings, but I feel they're pretty accurate given the simulation engine and the rebounding in NBA Live 2005.
