Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.
Mon Jan 10, 2005 6:03 pm
I don't agree with 50, but 30 is probably too low. I thought I'd set it to 40 in the latest update. I already reviewed the rookies in v1.04...which ratings in particular do you feel are inaccurate?
Mon Jan 10, 2005 6:35 pm
But 40 in too low because another player have more him , for example Samaki Walker have 44 , Micheal Ruffin Have 60 , Aron Williams 54 , Joel Pryzibilla have 80....and more more other play that in NBA have less of him......it's all....excuse another time!
The rookie I Think that JR Smith is undurvalue , 54 overall is too low....and the rating 3 pts and FG......
Ben Gordon should have more point in 3 pts rating.....
David Harrison is too low in many rating , he's play very well in this moment......
Other Than rookie there are some player that i think review:
M.Okur have 59 in overall and he's too low in rimb and blokc.....
Jared Jeffries have too low in rimb....only 53 in overall....
and Jarvis Hayes....have too low in speed , i think that he's very fast.....
that's All.....I hope my opinions will help you in your job!

Thanks Andrew for sending me the fsh. Changed my username as I intended to become more of an active user from now on, and my old one, well, was nostalgish
Hopefully Ill be able to make a cyberface for Jordan worthy of his name, and worthy of the quality of the work one can find in these forums.
Thanks again
(also added this must-have signature shot I compiled, I just love that commercial)

Oh....hmmm - I was comparing ratings against what we have in our league and i'm sure he was missing and I ended up finding him on team 40.....oh well, I must have got confused - sorry

54 is pretty average compared to the rest of the league right now, but I'll look at his ratings. As for Josh Smith, the other players you noted are big men, who are generally better shot blockers. Nevertheless, I'll take a look at those ratings again, but I do feel they are suitable given the players.

No worries, but you didn't have to sign up for a new account - you can actually change your username in your profile.

Ah, heh... I had no idea. I already played with the fsh file and currently its looking good, had to cut and edit here and there to fit the live 2005 format, but I believe Ive got the texture itself layered fine. Now to go out and find that MJ headshape out of non-MJ headshapes. Going to trace them with Mikes profile shots from front and sides that Ill let an art student I know to draw based on couple dozen pics Ill provide as a reference, so if all goes well Ill get a at least some sort of sample out during this week.
At least I have high hopes right now. Ill have it fit with sharpness level to the rest of the Live 2005 EA provided faces, as well as fit in hilights. Im not too much into this oversharpening and overlighting thats going on with many of the cyberfaces around here.
But Filips MJ is hard to beat
Btw Andrew played a simple game of 90s all stars vs Nets tonight (sure my win of course), but I just wanted to test overall flow. Shaq is major in 90s

I had him go down 28 points with 19 rebounds (7 offensive). MJ held down 23 points, followed by stockton with 18 and payton on 16 along with barkley. I bet it was just Nets not so good defensive play that had their players stumble almost every time my quicker players tried a fake step (ala MJ finals 98), but in general it was good. The suggestions I noted down still work however, Shaq a bit too dominant (in mid 90s he was more like centre-power forward) but it didnt bother me that much (he just played too much like he does nowadays).
Perhaps though Vince Carter needs ratings dropdown. His dunk package is too high for his current skills for example (his dunk should still be along 90s, since he rarely misses and does good alley's). He himself said that he cant dunk like he used to. But also he was major dominant in the game, far too much for a Nets game, and at this very moment he isnt that dominant in Nets (though he is still great at handling and forcing tough shots to go in).
But it was a fun game, so thanks again for the rosters

Josh Smith is a 6'9''
Micheal Ruffin 6'8''
Aron Williams 6'9''
Samaki Walker 6'9''
Also Josh Smith deserve a high rating in block....is very atletich and tall....
For other player how they play in the next game before the new pacth , ok?
thanks!

Thanks again Andrew. You can check the preview right there:

If you'd like, this cyberface could be exclusive part of your roster.

Mehmet Okur is great at off. rebounds and fg. And he deserves a better overall skill. Also you can drop Kutluay's dunk skill to 0 in the next version. Nobody will add him to their rosters but that's okay.
Believe me. It's not wrong. (Yes, I'm Turkish. And I didn't see him dunk in my lifetime.

)

this is really great. but i have one th ing about it. in my dynasty i just started, iverson is not in the league leaders for ANY of the stats such as points, assists, steals, etc. i checked the sixers' stats and he's only averaging about 12 and his shooting percentage is in the low 300s. any idea why this happens? i remember i had this problem with your 2004 roster updates too. thanks.

I think in Miami Damon Jones is PG and Wade is SG.
Wed Jan 12, 2005 6:44 pm
no Wade is a PG....
Wed Jan 12, 2005 8:59 pm
Andrew,
Thanks for bringing Michael Curry in the Pacer lineup. It's a big joy for us pacer fans.I know he's not an Artest or Jackson but the rotation became realistic.
Hope you release version 1.05 on the 26th just in time for the return of Jackson in Boston.
Just keep up the good work Andrew

Wade's natural position is SG.
Damon's been starting the point, but in reality Wade handles most of the rock in the front court.

I haven't made any changes that would lower Iverson's simulated scoring. Unfortunately NBA Live is still a little sketchy generating simulated stats from the ratings rather than the Dstats (which were removed last year).

Andrew What do u thinks for rookie rating?
Thu Jan 13, 2005 8:56 pm
Which rookie ratings? As I said, I'll take another look at the ratings for the players you mentioned.
Sat Jan 15, 2005 12:39 am
Andrew, first of all your patch is great. Thanks for getting Udonis Haslem's ratings just about perfect.(EA, 50 overall? , cmon).
Wade's ratings also seem to be right on the money.
One correction I might suggest. This one's not your fault. EA listed Marko Jaric, PG for the Clippers, as 6'5. His actual height, as listed by NBA.com and sportsline.com is 6'7 217. I edited him to that height, and it gives him a little more flexibiltiy as it lets him play the position he used to play in Europe which was SF.
BTW, in my opinion, you're all right about Wade. He's really at this point a combo guard. At times he plays point, at times SG. Although I'd lean to PG as he does tend to handle the ball in crucial situations.
Thanks again Andrew, and I look forward to future updates.

hmm. are you getting correct stats with iverson in your own bulls dynasty?
Sat Jan 15, 2005 2:13 pm
I haven't checked on his stats lately, but I started the Dynasty with the opening night version of my roster update which hasn't been updated for a while (I must do that, most likely when the All-Star teams are announced. It's just a matter of saving the current roster to a new slot then undoing all the roster moves).
Sat Jan 15, 2005 4:46 pm
Hey Andrew!!
I was just surfing in the stats sheet for some players, and noticed Anderson Varejao.
He has a 50 Off. Reb. and 43 Off. Awareness rating and methinks it should be more. He's #3 in the NBA in Off. Rebounds per 48. Also he's got (for Season averages) 1.8 Off. Rebs and 2.1 Def Rebs. That's nearly half of all his rebound attempts are offensive, and that is A LOT.
I think you should boost those rating a little.
Also PLEASE put black kneepads on the Diesel.
Cheers.
Sat Jan 15, 2005 5:23 pm
I agree as far as offensive rebounding goes, but I don't think he's one of the NBA's better offensive players, so I'd rather leave the Off Aware as it is for the moment. I'll update's Shaq's kneepads too.
Sat Jan 15, 2005 5:55 pm
when u release new pacth?
Sat Jan 15, 2005 6:15 pm
I've only just released v1.04! But possibly next weekend. I had considered releasing weekly updates, but I figure I can do a lot more as far as updating ratings and adding extras if I release the updates at least two weeks apart.
