Here is some question, hope you'll have the time ...

Is there too many fouls near the rim ? Is it too easy to get a foul and go to the FT line when you found a way to the rim ?

Or is it possible to challenge a shot, layup, dunk whithout being called with a foul or doing a monster block ? In live 2004, when you had a good defender like Shaq, it was too easy to block a dunk or a layup.

Is it possible to perform a "In your face" jam ?
Or will there be a foul, or a block...? I miss those high altitude battles.

Are the adjusted dunks, layups, still the sames ?
Is it just a throw toward the basket while you're in the air ? Or is it more realistic like changing your ball handling arm or/and do a windmill lay up behind the board a la Jordan ?

Did you see some of these actions ? Some that made you jumped from your seat and scream as if you saw a beautiful action on TV ?

Is there different kinds of shots for the three pointers ? In the 2004, guys like R. Wallace, Hill, (Centers and PF) from the 3pt line, made a ridiculous and unrealistic gesture to shoot. Is there something more realistic ?

Can you make a behind the back pass ?
or a No-look pass or a fake ?

How are the Cut scenes ? Is there any before you go to the FT line ? Are they realistic (TV like ?)

What is the most annoying thing ? Something you really don't like at all. (like my everlasting post...hum... )

Can you make a shot from far away ? like half court or more ?

Can you save the stats in the game ? player and team stats ?

33: in response to your questions...

Is there too many fouls near the rim ?

Yes and no. I was playing one 10 minute quarter with the 80's All Stars vs. Miami. Kareem got 4 fouls against Shaq in the first five minutes. Now, this can easily be fixed with sliders. I also found that when I'm controlling, it's easy to draw a foul when shooting a jumper.

Or is it possible to challenge a shot, layup, dunk whithout being called with a foul or doing a monster block ?

Yep, you can challenge a shot without blocking or fouling, which is a very nice addition.

Is it possible to perform a "In your face" jam ?

So far the dunks I've made were pretty much wide open and uncontested. I still find getting opportunities for dunks are too easy.

Are the adjusted dunks, layups, still the sames ?

Think of an awkward ballerina. :?

Did you see some of these actions ? Some that made you jumped from your seat and scream as if you saw a beautiful action on TV ?

The only screaming from the game was those horrible annoying camera flashing in your face before every foul, free throw, and inbounds.

Is there different kinds of shots for the three pointers ?

In the game, I've seen Larry Bird do a realistic shooting animation, but I've seen a lot of other players take the ugliest shots I've ever seen in my life. Where the hell does EA get their motion capture from? The jump shots look like they are double pumping it in the air and kicking their feet. So unrealistic. Next year, they better have someone like Allan Houston for motion capture, because watching my player take an ugly jumper just depresses me.

Can you make a behind the back pass ?

Yes, and they are beautiful. This is what saved the game, really. It's awesome watching Magic Johnson perform these passes. But the standard passes have some major issues. A lot of times there's a period of unresponsive movement after recieving a pass. Also, the passing isn't very crisp and fast sometimes, but rather players throw a weird knuckleball pass that takes about two seconds to go to a player right next to you. Another issue is when a player 1 moves from point A to point B, player 2, who has the ball, passes it to player 1, the ball goes between point A and point B rather than at point B. Another really annoying thing is when I want to pass it to a guy below me, he ends up throwing the ball to another guy across court which is below the other guy, and the ball gets intercepted. It could be reduced with sliders, though.

How are the Cut scenes ?

NO! Garbage! I never want to see that camera flashing cut scene ever again in my life! It's giving me a headache and making me go blind. EA absolutely have to come out with a patch to get rid of this, because I don't think I can go much longer.

What is the most annoying thing ?

See the above. In addition, the animation on defense sometimes locks up my player. If I'm trying to reach for a steal, for some reason my player would make himself look stupid by reaching all the way in when there is no ball and I can't even go backwards because the animation is locked. By then, my man is already heading toward the basket. Soemtimes the dunk button is unresponsive. Say I make a sweet pass in the paint and my big guy has a chance for an uncontested dunk, he just stands there when I'm pressing the dunk button. Lastly, I haven't seen a contested layup that actually went in.

Can you make a shot from far away ? like half court or more ?

I haven't tried shooting from halfcourt.

Can you save the stats in the game ? player and team stats ?
Nope.

No One Online

Thu Oct 28, 2004 3:36 pm

I bought Live '05 for PC today and there was no one online except me. from the few hours I got to play. It seems online play will be less cheap. And u can't change the shooting difficulty like in '04. I love This Game.

actually yes, you can save the box scores when you're viewing the "Box Scores" in the schedule

you can also save other games' box scores as well ~~

What's wrong with that? I like this. I mean, it's annoying when it happens. But it's realistic. If you're defending and you gamble on the steal that isn't there... then your player isn't going to get past you. Just like in NBA.

33... I'll answer some of your Q's because i have a different view to cyanide.

Is there too many fouls near the rim ? Is it too easy to get a foul and go to the FT line when you found a way to the rim ?

It seems about right to me. There are a lot of in air collisions.. sometimes the ball just falls out of your hand, sometimes it hits the rim but misses, sometimes it's blocked. But most of the time you get to the line. But don't worry, it's balanced about right. Dont be thinking whenver you drive you'll get to the line. Because it's not always the case. Also you wont be able to get passed your defender and drive very easily anyway.
Or is it possible to challenge a shot, layup, dunk whithout being called with a foul or doing a monster block ? In live 2004, when you had a good defender like Shaq, it was too easy to block a dunk or a layup.

See Cyanide.
Is it possible to perform a "In your face" jam ?

Not really. You'll only really dunk when the lane is open. And if you try to dunk on somebody, you'll either be called for the offensive foul or an in air collision will occur.
Cyanide wrote:I still find getting opportunities for dunks are too easy.

I disagree with this.
Are the adjusted dunks, layups, still the sames ?

Nope. There are quite a few different animations. Some look really cool. Others are kinda prissy.
Did you see some of these actions ? Some that made you jumped from your seat and scream as if you saw a beautiful action on TV ?

Probably, but not that i can remember. So i guess the answer is no?

The jumpshot animations are a lot better than last year. Post player's have sort of a wierd jumpshot animation but it's not bad. It's like Austin Croshere's jumpshot. Cept not as smooth.
Can you make a behind the back pass ?

Umm... I haven't seen any... But Cyanide has... so i guess there is. :?
The passing is stupid in this year's live, again. This is where ESPN is better. The passing. In NBA Live the flow of passing is horrible. It's so stop and start. You have to be standing still to receive every pass. There's a new animtion where the player keeps running forward has he recieves a pass on the break. but it's very rare that it happens.

How are the Cut scenes ?

What cutscenes? lol

What is the most annoying thing ?

Fast break A.I. and passing. Oh, and not being able to save player stats. :x (If this is even true. Good god, i hope it's not.)
Can you make a shot from far away ? like half court or more ?

Can you?
Can you save the stats in the game ? player and team stats ?

Argh! Don't get me started. Fucking dopey EA pot smoking fuckwits. (N)

the file extention is readable by ACDsee,
I think other popular graphic software can read the files too.
such as photoshop, paint shop pro, etc (but I didn't tried)

I disagree with this.

Try pressing the pro-hop and while you're halfway in the pro-hop animation, quickly press the pass button and you'll make really nice no-look passes. This works well with a guard driving down the lane and kicking it out to a big man. This is where I get a lot of my dunks from as well as players who are positioned near the net.

Also, don't you find the flashing camera/team logo between every free throw and before every inbounds annoying? It's enough to give somebody with epilepsy a seizure.
