it's sad to see that stockton is out

Tue Sep 28, 2004 6:30 am

Why is the 90s all-stars only 9 deep?

Looks like I will be creating a lot of legends.

Tue Sep 28, 2004 6:39 am

The ratings on those legends are ass-backwards...

Big O is only an 86? Magic is 2 points below Bird? Hah!

whats wrong with bird being 2 points ahead of magic? show me where he was so much better than bird that the fact bird is rated higher makes you laugh?

anyway, the 80's squad is far and away the best. i am not going by in game ratings either, i mean for real life that would be the best team. the 90's squad got raped or else i would put them number 2, possibly 1.

Add M.Richmond for the "missing legends"
:(

Tue Sep 28, 2004 10:15 am

Russell a 74 :?:

:(

Tue Sep 28, 2004 10:31 am

i could see russel being lower than most. personally i think he easily deserves 99 in blocks, rebounds, and defensive awarness. his offensive stats dont have to be that good which could lower his over all. i would think him better than a 74 personally but not as high as other legends, including wilt. of course i would take russell over wilt anyday.

No D.Robinson, No P.Ewing, No H.Olajowan, No Stockton, No West, No MJ, No Barkley, No Kemp. Only one PG for the 90's ?

:furious:

EA got cheated when they traded robinson, ewing, olajowan, stockton, west, jordan, barkley, and kemp for kareem... talk about bad GM decision making  jk.

He wasn't better, they were dead equal except that Bird was a better shooter for most of his career and Magic was vastly more athletic. I'd have rated them the same.

Tue Sep 28, 2004 12:37 pm

i fully agree that they should be equal. while bird had his areas where he was superior magic also had his. i think these 2 balance each other out. what bugged me was the fact that you laughed cause bird was rated 2 higher.

Tue Sep 28, 2004 2:11 pm

I laughed because it was so obvious, even from their accomplishments, that they were equal that to rate Bird better is ridiculous.

Except for the overall number of championships, they were basically the same. Bird beat Magic for the ROY, they both won 3 MVPs, Bird won three to Magic's 5 championships. They both ended their careers in '92, though Magic made a brief comeback in '96.

All-Stars pretty much every year. Magic got a Finals MVP award in his rookie year (only player ever to do that).

kareems rating? there joking right, we need to make a thread for the legends for past games not in this one.

Wed Sep 29, 2004 2:36 am

what needs to happen is that someone needs to take player creation requests for all of hte Legends that are missing and make them up into a patch so that the PC players can at least have the Legends they want. Barkley, Richmond, Olajuwon, Ewing, Stockton, etc.

Wed Sep 29, 2004 12:47 pm

if anything is laughable its kareems rating.

he sould be at least 85-90.

i hope that in 2006 ea gonna put stockton and all the other missing legends back,

also to put historical teams.....is that much ea???

Thu Sep 30, 2004 8:20 am

I will be making a Legends Roster with all those missing players...so if anyone wants to help...

2 points in the 90's doesn't make much of a difference, and ratings don't necessarily reflect performance on the court. Even though Magic is one of the greatest passers of all time, Larry Bird is one of the greatest passing forwards of all time. In addition, Larry knows how to rebound well, make steals and he is a great shooter. His skills and court awareness make up for his lack of speed and hops, which makes him such an amazing player. Magic, like Larry has tremendous awareness and skills that does put him right up there with Larry. More championships doesn't determine overall ratings, imo.

Penny Hardaway at 90...

That's 'better' than...
Kareem
Cousy
Baylor
Big O
Willis Reed
Lanier
Havlicek
Rick Barry
Pistol
Walt Frazier
Wes Unseld
Earl the Pearl
Tiny Archibald
Drexler
Gervin
Isiah
Moses Malone
Parish
Dominique
James Worthy
Shaq!!!
Karl Malone

I really miss MJ. I would love to be in the dunk contest with him because he would be a monster basically.

Hopefully next year!

Maybe a wishlist soon?

lmao. kinda kills the realizm huh?

Kareem should be a 98. He is basically the second greatest player of all time, with obviously just 99 reserved for MJ. Kareem was better than 76 even at the end of his career, since he did made the all star team every year even when he was 42 years old! Penny was maybe a 90 for one brief flickering second, but even in his best season he was not better than paul pierce who is rated 89. So kemp, drob, richmond, all those dudes are gone, stockton and jordan. So when reggie and pippen and malone hang it up, will the 90s all stars be Kobe and Garnett, or whoever is left from the 90s?

I think he did have an amazing NBA Finals series when he was with the Orlando Magic and had a couple good years, but that doesn't justify his 90 rating, let alone actually be on the 90's team.

Thu Sep 30, 2004 12:59 pm

In last year's game.... malone was 90 and pippen 92, now they are 86 and 91.... strange how their PAST performance in the 90s got worse from 2004 to 2005....

Thu Sep 30, 2004 1:01 pm

Another small thing is that they did not add a year to the 90s guys experience.... hardaway is still 10, o neal still 11, malone still 18, but in reality they have each added a year since that.

i would have to disagree with kareem being the second best ever. i would have to say that the big 3(jordan bird and magic) remain the best 3 to ever play this game.
