Who's headshape might that be?

Well Id not consider it very fast. Firstly Im working in the same field, and do this patching out of my free time, however remember that EA has about one year to create the art for the game. When previously they recycled alot, then for Live 2005 they remade everything because of the engine. Now this is more than 350 cyberfaces plus other art.

So if calculated, about one cyberface per day for an artist is not something amazing. But they had to do models as well, and had a team to do other art and such.

These werent made in a short time really, took me a bit less than two weeks to pull these cyberfaces out so not a big deal. Just wish I had the headshape editor to work with, cause Im working on 3D models most of the time at work, and it would have produced some great results.

As long as Kristo's happy for me to use his faces in the roster, they'll be in there. ;)

NLSC v1.06 Patch should come out in less than a week, at least Andrew said in some thread that before 5th.

Ive also been asked to create some other legends from 90s, like Mullin, Tim Bug and Richmond. Also am thinking about players like Hornacek or other important players, but am taking a break at the time being and youll definetly hear from me when something gets released again :) If its in a day or a week, not sure, but since creating those main ones was fun, then I expect more rare ones not to be any way lesser, and your support has been awesome :)

Sometime this week. I'm going away for a week next Saturday, so there will be a bit of a delay between v1.06 and v1.07.

Made a nice new pic for the project :)

Image

Since this project began as a Michael Jordan cyberface collection, the project was named MJ Decade. With that done, I decided to create the rest of missing legends form Andrews NLSC Roster Patch.

However Michael Jordan Decade, as such, existed from late 80s until early 2000s, and the legends I made fitted that timescale. So the project name remains the same, but there shall be some new cyberfaces coming up soon. As I was requested to do Mullin, Richmond and Tim Hardaway, they shall come next for sure (perhaps not in that order though).

If anyone wishes another now-retired good 90s legend, or roleplayer, then Id appreciate it being mentioned to me, and it would be ESPECIALLY good if Id get some reference material of the player, good closeup pictures you can dig up, also previous Live cyberfaces would do me good.

Its mostly certain that if someone gives me good reference images, then Ill also be making that player.

But yeah, any kind of input is appreciated.

Thanks. Yeah the AJ issue, since I usually always forget to select the shoes when creating a player Ill later turn into non-generated one, they usually stay the same. I like these shoes though, even if not AJ's ;)

Currently working on Mullin. DAMN why has every second player Im doing, some kind of rare face. I mean look at Mullin. And now think where I can find a headshape like that... Aarghh...

This was perhaps the second hardest cyberface Ive tried. Near impossible to find a good headshape, because of Mullins eyes (which called to extreme measures), and I had nearly no good closeup reference so most of the main detail had to be brushed till the end, with the help of some low-res reference I managed to get. Nevertheless Im happy with the end result and Im sure UltraNIX, who requested this, is pleased.

Not sure about him being in NLSC patch. Even if he was a major player in the 90s, he wasnt among the top 15. Mullin was a roleplayer in the team, his best ability to shoot, but yeah. I doubt he'll be in NLSC unless some sort of system is made up where he can be included, but I doubt.

But he is available for retro rosters, and installing his face isnt hard for them.

How about putting him in the '80s? He was good in that time frame.

Mullin is pretty good (looks a bit strange though), so as Ewing (good headshape choice (Y))

Jordan, Barkley and Stockton ain't that good though, wrong headshape selections & not very detailed bheds.

doesnt matter filip, Ive gone through most of the headshapes ingame for every legend Ive made and picked them as the best pick. You may not agree, but Ive seen even every free agent so many times already that Im beginning to memorize them. Every bhed is 256x256 EA default, and the bheds of MJ, and stock are definetly very detailed so I cant see where your comment came from.

But at least, since I know there are different opinions all around the world, I dont worry about it much, since the patches have been extremely succesful and as far as NLSC download counters show the numbers go up quite fast..

Whats most important however, something I stated at the very beginning, Im making these for my own good, out of my free time, for fun. My decisions shall remain mine, and in my book, the selection of headshape and the construction of bhed textures have been correct. You disagree apparently, but it wont rock my ship. Ive gotten great compliments by some of the best patchers in the community, being offered to join patching teams, but all this has come ot this one point through the decisions Ive made and after hours of looking for the best headshape, brushing the texture layering with dozens of force layers, resulting in the final work Ive pushed out, I personally feel good about them. Perfect sure not, but at least characteristic, and definetly detailed (without (!) using 512x512 textures).

Im going to continue the road Ive gone so far, and wont try to be influenced in the future by the "most popular" headshape picks or bhed designs straight from photos. So because of that Im sure people who have enjoyed the patches this far will enjoy the future ones as well.

And one cant forget that all these legends are no-headshape patches, all from scratch. Cant even try to compare any selection here to those of a player that has a headshape.

Its as simple as that, and Ive yet to hear about better headshapes for barkley, jordan or stockton. Definetly not outlaw for mj or this portland smallhead for stock. This trio at least Ive got definetly better selected than the selections of your headshapes. Never forget that a headshape needs to match also from a side and not just front

But hey, I totally understand you loving your selections and picks. GOod that you enjoy them. Ive created my patches for others to enjoy, and as long as there is even one people in the very end of the long and perhaps dark road who still likes the work I manage to push out aside from actual work, it will be all worth it. Every last bit and pixel.

For you, people who love Live 2005 and enjoy these patches :)

Filip, you made my day, I feel like times better than I felt before reading couple of your last replies in this forum :)

Have a goooood day Filip :)

nighty nite
