Report from Vancouver (Updated w/Gameplay Info)

I hope they change every every season. Like, Dwight Howard's primacy should increase year after year as he gets better and better. I hope this is in the game and I hope the stats are more realistic after the first season.

Mr. Shane a few questions...

hv u noticed while on defense ur controlled player being drawn (magnetized) into a double-team against ur will? dis is one of the many issues with Live 2004 and I hoped they fixed dis (if in case u cant confirm it in 2005).

hv u seen a double-team for a certain period of time just like in Live2004 where the ball just rolls over the floor outside of the ensuing double-teaming defensive play (the ball leaving the scene of the crime when the double-teamed player doesn't pass outside 2 a teammate in time)?

was it confirmed that they fixed the NCAA draft class?

that the players aren't overated when uploaded to the dynasty.

Have they fixed the player of the month and rookie of the month bug? As well as the end of season awards. Do we now have a player of the week award? Thanks.

It might be good if EA would consider importing players from previous games to eliminate those players who fail to return due to legal reasons and etc. I heard MJ is not in the game, but if I could just import the character name from the previous game with the new gaming engine then it wouldn't matter, especially if I couls adjust the Attributes when and if needed. I just have one question regarding the long range passes....how often do they make long range passes, and are they easier to be missed/intercepted?
'Cause i remember last year, almost all the long range bombs would make it to their target, which was rather unrealistic

1. I saw the three dunk contest tutorial videos over @ IGN - I was wondering if those would be in the game.

2. Can you see stats of games that you simulate? (Like in live 2004 I would try to get Nowitzki Player of the month award, but If I simulated the last few games of the month - I couldn't figure out how many points he had scored in those games.

3. While I'm on the matter of calculations - Did you by any chance see the calculator back (Some of you old schoolers might remember it from LIVE 99)

4. Are there like movies or anything at halftime?

5. Do players get trophies in the trophy house for winning 3 point contest or Slam Dunk etc.

6. Is the short fadeaway still automatic with Nowitzki, Garnett, and Duncan like players? (In my dynasties I could always count on knocking down 90-100% of 10 foot fadeaways over anybody with Nowitzki - no blocks either. Has anybody else experienced that?

One thing that as far as I can tell has not been asked yet - are sign&trades possible in Dynasty Mode?

Also, any comments from the producers on the netcode, especially for PC? While 2004 was an improvement over earlier versions, there is still a lot left to be desired regarding smoothness.
And while we are at it - can you finally set the same sliders in MP? Last year, MP only allowed you to change certain sliders, not all of them.

Haha, VA here too. (That's a little bit more of than 3 too ) Anyway some of those questions have already been answered.
1.) Yes the tutorials are in the game. I dont think in PC version though.
2.)Yes-that is the box score that they were talking about.
the rest I don't know.

Thanks again... Vancouver's beautiful, isn't it? How far from the downtown core and oceanfront is EA Canada?

I live in Vancouver and got a tour of EA Canada last year. It's less than 5 minutes from Metrotown, which is one of the biggest malls in Vancouver. I actually think it is the biggest, but it's borderline Richmond if I'm not mistaken. Probably takes 30-35 minutes to get there from Stanley Park/downtown by car.

Now about live

Is the AI smarter with inbounding the ball this year, I remember one game where the CPU was down one and ignored Reggie Miller and gave it to Jermaine O'Neal two feet outside the 3-point line for a turn around. That's one of my major problems with the game. Glad to hear the post moves seem to be better.

Notice how he hasn't answered questions for + a week? He prolly isn't going to answer anymore.

Maybe we have asked everything there is to be asked
But hopefully we can get a little more info soon, he is prolly just really busy or something

For those who haven't seen it yet...I thought I would mention that I have posted the last part of my report. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to answer any more questions for the next 1 1/2 weeks since I will be away...

I have couple of questions to ask
1. You mention the thing about upgrading your PDA.
2. How do you earn upgrades for the PDA?
3. Does the PDA looks like maddens or NHLs?
4. What are the upgrades like?
5. Are there new dynasty extras?
6. Now is it necessary to get dynasty extras or do traing sessions?
7. Are there anything else to do besides scout plp from across the world during Season. Like dealing with chemistry, morale, do you as a GM get certain goals to complete from your owner?
8. Are there specific type of managers like ones that want to win or ones that want to make money.
9. do you deal with finances; like hiring coaches, adding upgrades to your court, paying for scouts, dealing with ticketing, etc...
10. Are there any unlockables in the game like earning legends or classic courts.
11. Are there tasklists in side play modes.[ like MVP does when you play in there showdown modes and if you beat certain players you get points}.

Only have one thing that is really important to me .....

When your over the cap do we finally have a mid level exception ?

lower level would be nice too altough i'd be satisfied if we atleast get the MLE ...
