heh, thanks, silly me :)

Sat Jan 22, 2005 8:00 pm

I'm not sure you realized... But Chuck wore number "4" in his Rockets years...
A guy called "The Dream" had the "34"... 8-)

Sat Jan 22, 2005 8:03 pm

Yes I was already notified in the previous post :) I started making him in Phoenix, as I used his profile from phoenix to get his height and weight data, and thus there was 34. Then I moved him to Houston, forgetting the number change since there is no Olajuwon...

Friend of mine who is the greatest fan of Barkley will most likely beat the crap out of me for such an act lol :)

Sat Jan 22, 2005 11:41 pm

wow barkley and jordan, made my day :=)

Sun Jan 23, 2005 1:24 am

i got them as well, thanks for the detailed instructions :) :) :)

jordan confused me at the beginning because of those many options (and who is this jeffrey? his son?), but ingame it looks just like i remember him.

barkley needs perhaps some tweaks here or there but for a game that has no barkley in the first place its great :)

thank you :)

Sun Jan 23, 2005 1:43 am

Both patches can now be grabbed from NLSC if anyone hasnt noticed yet. Want to thank Andrew again :)

Liv, Im happy that you like them, and I will look into Barkley more (sounds weird now that I re-read the line  look into barkley) :)

Thanks also for all those who have sent me personal requests about addons and/or next patches to do, Ill consider these suggestions and see what I can do. Jordans patch has been a success and I am happy that so many are enjoying it.

Also, cocobee wanted to use Jeffrey as part of his some dynasty so who knows, might be fun thing to follow ;)

Thanks again

I got both downloads and installed them, but evidently, they either didn't work or I did something wrong. I have the NLSC roster. Can someone help me out here?

Sun Jan 23, 2005 7:11 am

If I remember, in NLSC roster, the players are handled somewhat differently. It kinda has like two data sections for each of the new legend, which seemed weird for me when I tried the same you did.

I really dont know what to suggest, it works on other roster patches (since they dont do something Andrew is doing), but you shouldnt worry. If you cant wait for a while, you could try contacting Andrew and asking about it. He told me however that he will release a new patch in a day or two if I understood correctly, and both of these patches are included.

If youll create a "new" Jordan in game and then try making it work with the patch it should surely work?

Another thing you could try is just changing the players-dbf and leaving appearance.dbf alone (it didnt have a matching string to jordan if I remember right). In players dbf change it to mijorda and those FALSE things on both Jordans and see what happens then.

Dont really know what else to suggest, Ill ask Andrew about this some time.

Cruiserweight619, now that v1.05 is released it has Jordan as default in the install. It should Late 90s Jordan, but if you want some other Michael Jordan cyberface then all you have to do is copy the contents of one of the cyberface patches to the installation directory and run the installer. It doesnt mess with the saved game, and just replaces the mijorda files that are used for Jordans cyberface.

Have fun :)

Mon Jan 24, 2005 1:58 am

Cool, nice work, thanks.

Mon Jan 24, 2005 7:31 am

Alright, Ive got another one for you. Finding a cyberface was harder this time because there werent many options, but I finally settled with this one. I also tried Filips option of rifrahm for Stockton cyberface but that head didnt look right for me, from the side because his head is so small and kinda bent from the side (as was the case with baron davis headshape when I tried it for Jordan).

Nevertheless, I liked this headshape the most. Texture was put together piece after piece like a puzzle, there arent many Stockton pics around (portrait style) and the one that existed in gettyimages was way too small in resolution (and blurry), so I used different bits to put it together and am quite satisfied with the result. Something to tweak here and there but yeah.

The patch also includes the 2D portrait, as always.

Grab it from the main post in this thread.

Well, enjoy!

Thanks :) Whats missing is even better headshape ;) Damn Ive worked on 3D for years and now am doing stuff from my free time where I cant even move the vertices on the models :x

But it can be managed at least somehow ;)

Mon Jan 24, 2005 7:58 am

Alright I set all the downloads with "card" pictures in the main post thread, so if anyone is looking for anything they can check there first ;)

Btw for ANYONE who wishes to use Stockton on just-released NLSC roster patch you need to do dbf editing again. Until Andrew releases the next patch, you probably wont be seeing an easier way of doing this. I shall also include this in the readme files from now on.

-CHAPTER C
----------

1. Since youve installed NLSC Roster Patch already, you just need to edit the dbf files to accept the patch. Remember, this install is for the purpose of installing this particular cyberface patch into NLSC's legends pool cyberface that comes with NLSC Roster Patch, and should only be done if the player doesnt yet have the cyberface. Backup first.

2. Use a dbf editing package, such as Microsoft Office Excel or OpenOfficeOrg Calc to open players.dbf file that is situated usually in "My Documents/NBA Live 2005/saves/SAVEGAMENAME".

3. Use find (edit->find) to find the name Stockton in the file. You should find two instances. Write down John Stocktons line's numbers from PLAYERID column (E) since youll need them BOTH later on. Also write down the number on which line the data is on (for both again)

4. Then you have to change the values in columns ISCREATED (BL column) , FACEPATCH (BM) and also ISGENERATE (BN) into negative, positive, negative respectively, FALSE in ENGLISH for example (As in TRUE-FALSE). Also, change the same line PLAYERPKG (BQ) to JOSTOCK. Save the changes.

Repeat: ISCREATED FALSE
FACEPATCH TRUE
ISGENERATE FALSE
PLAYERPKG JOSTOCK

5. Next you have to open appearance.dbf from the same folder you opened players.dbf from. This is mainly about appearance of the player now, and since it uses no names, here is where youll need PLAYERID you had written down earlier. However there is no player with that ID to be found. Usually what should work in NLSC Roster is the line number. Go to the two lines you scribed down before, change APPEARID (column B) into the PLAYERID number you had written down before, according to the order in which it was in the players.dbf file.Change the C column (FACEID) to -1 and the next columns on both lines to JOSTOCK. You could also check if the G column (COLOR) has the value of 0 in it. Save the changes.

6. Next you have to move (or copy if you wish to keep the patch installation files) from the patch folder you wish to install. Copy the files from John Stockton folder into NBA Live 2005 installation directory (Remember, EA keeps savegame directory and installation directories different, but usually its under Program Files/EA Games (or EA Sports). There you need to run install.bat file which makes the remaining changes.

7. Start the game and load the NLSC roster. If there are any problems, you can contact me on degen@solo.ee or ask for assistance in NLSC forums.

8. Enjoy :)

Fantastic! Straight into the next version. :)

Add some chest hair if you can.

Sure, will do, lol :D

Mon Jan 24, 2005 11:36 am

Alright I updated it a bit. Changed the hair to be more like in the portrait picture, and cut his hair from the back (it looks wrong in the older version). Also this slight chest hair that was requested is now there ;)

Grab the update from the main post of this thread

Enjoy :)

Jordan, Barkley and now Stockton.
Someone tries to compete with me :P

Tue Jan 25, 2005 4:11 am

No not really, heh. I did Jordan because Ive enjoyed his play the most. Barkley because my friend is his greatest fan and Stockton because he was the missing from NLSC Roster (picking him as the first to do was because he played against MJ in the finals and hurt them quite a bit :) ). Currently working on Ewing.

I think my plan is to finish the cyberfaces that NLSC rosters are missing, after that I dont know. Its fun at least, there are many good artists in the forum.

Currently MJ, Barkley and Stockton have been quite succesful. I know I need to work on Barkley a bit more later on, and finish some of the things on MJ, but they have come out quite good. Stockton was especially hard because I was missing good front pictures to get most of the detail from one picture, but after tweaking I managed to hit the mark.

The bad thing is that patching takes time. New players who dont have cyberfaces pre-existing are especially hard to patch since there is no base-bhed texture to work on and no headshape at all. Selecting the best headshape takes time and then creating a cyberface, brushing it out, layering to detail, then modifying to get the details out as they work on headshape is a stressful job, at least for me. But fun :)

But Im not trying to compete with you lol, no point really. With many patches, people have a choice in cyberfaces, selecting the one they prefer, and that is a good thing, the most important thing.

Hehe, I'll do him too then :P

Same here man, but I think my headshape choice was good enough to compensate the bhed.

Don't stress, It's not like it's a real job on you get a deadline to deal with.

Tue Jan 25, 2005 4:35 am

Well Im on a tight schedule and am doing this patching from a free time ;)

Nevertheless your headshape pick was good for front but it was off from sides and didnt look like Stockton. rifrahm headshape is kinda tiny and in my opinion it didnt fit well. But your bhead was well positioned to compensate most of that and resulting in good Stockton.

But Im loving the work on bhead texture, its just awesome. Beginning from a spooky empty no-mouth-nose-hair-eyes face and then starting to add detail. Kinda like playing god  Ah well, its fun anyway, I tend to position mouth first since its so strange how its handled in Live 2005 compared with other game engines Ive worked with.

I was told once that god is in details, and it truly is so :)
