TMac - 90
JKidd - 90
AI - 85
Marbury - 80
Stoudemire - 74

Atleast if the ratings stay the same they were in 2004... But it don't really matter...
These look very familiar to the last years ratings.
Joe Johnson- 70
OK. Andris Biedrins from my southside neighbour Latvia?

................. anyways elton brand-78

20+ points, 10+ rebounds, top 3 offensive rebounder, 3+ assists a game, 2+ blocks a game, very good defender, pretty quick and fast, second to Tim Duncan in post skill, and pretty good mid-range game get's Brand a 78 rating?
Brand should be 88+ in his rating, Quentin Richardson wouldn've been a 78 ish, likely less. Maggette would be about 79-81.
Tue Sep 07, 2004 12:05 pm
stats should not determine overall rateing, skill should. brand dont deserve to be an 88. he is good just not that good, no way.
Wed Sep 08, 2004 9:45 am
how bout T.J. Ford?
Wed Sep 08, 2004 9:56 am
73, what about jameer nelson?
Wed Sep 08, 2004 10:32 am
How can TJ Ford be that high rated of a player when he was hurt most of the season. As for the Prince, why is he a 76? If some of these role players are in the 70's, then I guess most of the players in the game will be 70 or higher

, so Brand is not skilled?
He is one of the most fundamental guys in the league, he's a very good defender, can block shots, a very good rebounder especially offensively, has a pretty good mid-range jumper especially compare to what people think, and he's a good passer, I think that will get him at least an 85.
What's the complaint now, his team lost therefore he's not good, I guess Tmac's rating should also go down in the game because his team lost right?
Marion too?

I don't thin his injury will affect his play, so he should be in the 70's [probably like 70 right on], we all know he's a good passer who can't shoot, but is very quick and has mad handles, but if you watch him you'll see that he's also a very good defender, and he's a good rebounder, especially at 5'10, he's a real good rebounder.

Can we just make a list of the positions of players then do the ratings...Like can someone do the ratings for like the top 20 centers, power fowards, small forwards, sg's and pg's. That way I can see how all these ratings people are saying fair out.
Wed Sep 08, 2004 12:40 pm
this sounds more reasonable, of course we might have a debate over the top 20 in each

Elton Brand has to be the most underrated player in the league, I raised him to an 86 myself.....

Thanks you, someone that understands what I'm saying, if people don't even think he deserves more than 78 in a video game then it's just sad.

It just goes to show how important it can be to a player's career where he plays. I blame the lack of exposure that he gets on the lowly Clips for the reason he doesn't get his due.....
You couldn't imagine how shocked I was to see him rated closer to Antoine Walker than Rasheed Wallace when I first bought the game. I started editing immediately.....
Wed Sep 08, 2004 11:52 pm
If Brand will be 88 and Maggette and 81 , i assume these two will lead the Clips to the title . Ok, ok ,not maybe so far

Rasheed Wallace

Rasheed is gonna be sick................juss think of the finals

This is the reason why we need to do either top 10 or top 20 at each position.

i said brand does not deserve an 88, never said he should be a 78. thankfully with the 0-100 point system we dont have to group players up like in the past. pre 2004 i would say he is an 88, maybe above, but now with these ratings i would go with 84-85 myself. its my opinion and opinions can always be argued. i agree that he is really skilled and can do alot but i think he lacks what it takes to be at the top of the league, and thats leadership. i guess seeing as live dont really take that into consideration much it dont matter if he has it or not. again just my opinion.
Thu Sep 09, 2004 4:36 pm
How about Vlade Divac, the best passing big man in the game?
Thu Sep 09, 2004 11:39 pm
.....good topic........
i think they should bring back the old overall ratings from previous lives which was a calculated overall as in "overall skill" rather then the positional overall, i mean on last years game have you seen chandlers overall rating? way off the mark i must say.
how are you working these overalls out by the way?
id say:
Superstar eg: garnett, kobe, shaq, duncan = 90+
franchise player / all star eg: b.davis, franchise, brand = 80+
very good player / fringe player eg: sprewell, hamilton = 70+
ps: brand IS one of the most underated players in the league he does his thing better then 95% of people his ultra strong, has a good handle for his size, i remmber him crossing somone up from 10ft and jaying right in his face, awsome rebounder and a great shot blocker what more do you want?

Well it looks like some of these ratings like Brand being an 88 isn't going to be true. After looking at the gameplay videos of live, I saw that Tmac was a 90 and Yao was an 81. That kinda tells you how the ratings will be. I think KG would most likely be the same rating at 97 and Kobe will be a 96 or 97 and Duncan 95.

Well I guess it's all subjective but if it were up to me, Duncan would be the highest rated player in the game followed by Kevin....
You ever wonder if these NBA players themselves talk about their ratings in video games? I'm almost certain they do.....
Fri Sep 10, 2004 12:26 pm
lol thats why some of them probably play real well during the season so their ratings can go up in the next video game
Fri Sep 10, 2004 12:36 pm
That's why Redd will tear it up next year, EA only gave him like a 60 something rating in the originals when he should've been like 78
