Open up biggui and go into the NBA Live 2005/fe folder and open bckgrnds.viv, all the player images and names will be in there.

i dont get it, but hows this supposed to change the lighting? i put it in game and i didnt see any difference. perhaps a preview please when you have the chance? thanks.

I tried making new menu screens, but they are too hard to get the text to fit properly and the pictures in the right position.

Previews for Lighting patch V1.1




My aim was to get rid of the white wrap like lighting that looked very unrealistic, add more color to the skin of the players and give more definition to the player models by increasing the shadows.

I'm still learning how to edit the lighting, and I have a long ways to go before I can make anything really good. Comments or suggestions are welcome.

it looks very, um, animated / cartoon like. Try reducing colour2 I believe it is to lessen the shadow a bit.

2005's lighting system is very different from 06 or 07's but it looks like your off to a good start

Why would you need an updated teams.dbf?
If it is for the team colors, that will be in his next roster update along with something else I did. The other thing is that I moved the birthyears back 2 years, so they have the correct age in dynasty mode.

Unfortunately RSox, you moved the birthdates back on the wrong roster. When I checked it in game, it was the default Live 2005 roster, which would mean I would have to spend alot of time making 2 years worth of rookies again.
