A New Rosters Patch....!!!

Hello fox!

i have released a patch that i maid all day!
i hope its going to be cool because it has the facts of the NBA.COM site!!

Did you ask Andrew to use his rosters as your base? Cause all the created players and everything are in the same order. I am not sure so i am not gonna say anything

He didnt what? Make the rosters? He just changed the ratings to what he belived that were realistic and releaed the rosters... but i dont knw for sure so i am not gonna say anything

I don't usually post from work in my lunchbreak, but I couldn't wait until this evening.

doctor j, you did not ask my permission to use my rosters as a base for yours. You cannot take someone's patch, change it around and re-release it as your own work without giving any credit whatsoever - it's not the way we do things in this community.

I do not give you permission to use my roster this way (please check the copyright notice you agreed to when you installed the patch). I ask that you please remove the download link and do not do this again - it's unfair to steal another person's work and pass it off as your own. I will not warn or ask you again. Make your own roster patch from scratch, just like I had to.

sorry i understand now but what wrong with rosters why cant i used yours
cause i need a patch that has the trades dead line so your is the only one!

i didnt knew that i need to ask your premision and i'm soory wont happen again!

but beside that i think the rating are very correct like in the nba.com site shows!

maybe you can take that patch has yours and cahnge a few things and then
realese it like a normal patch you know what i'm mean bro!?

you cant use sumone else work to further your own without permission; simple as that....i got my lecture last year when i offered to help make more colorways of shoes others have made....i was in the same mindset.....but the end point is, the things u did to the roster are for u and u only. most of us make changes to andrew's roster when we get it...i have to make a lot since i have to have so many things right,rookies - missing players - the correct shoe for each player,takes me a full day just to get it right,but i do it everytime he releases another roster cause he's the best, but andrew started with ea's default rosters and so will u if u want to release the roster as your own offically. hopefully that furthers your understanding of exactly why u cant use his as a base and how hard he has worked to get his to where it is...trust me, if it took him only 1 day to get his rosters to where they are, he'd be a happy dude.

fine i understand but andrew is about to release a new patch he said with rating improve and more stuff improved so maybe i'm asaking he could take what i have done that it is he's from the first place and do the same changes that he is about to do on that!

its tha same thing just i have done a rating improve & it may help to save time!
just look at it andrew and do your work on that , that will be better for you!

It's not like he's going to SELL the damn thing anyway... give the guy a break...

And please don't tell me that when someone modifies his EA original roster and just so happens it looks a lot like someone else's he' ll have copyright infringement issues...

We are supposed to be a community of gamers here, not a bunch of stuck-up lawyers...

So even if he was to STEAL the rosters, why should one care? Does anyone stand to make a profit out of this,anyway?

So I would advice we just relax and let the guy do his thing...

I'm sorry dweaver99027, but you have no idea what you're talking about. I've put a lot of time and effort into the rosters, and, as I mentioned, it's against the spirit of the community to take work from someone else and pass it off as your own without giving any credit whatsoever...especially when you don't even ask to use it in the first place.

No! While I'm still updating a roster patch, I'm not inclined to allow people to use it a base for their own current roster patch. I do not give you permission to use the rosters; I'm not willing to even consider it for someone who shows such disrespect for the code of ethics among patchmakers.

No, I don't want to press charges or something silly like that. I'm simply talking about the respect and code of conduct/ethics between patchmakers. Your criticism of my stance on the issue suggests that you're not fully aware of the whole situation when it comes to asking each other for permission and whatnot. That is what I was referring to when I said that you had no idea what you were talking about.

Dweaver, you don't understand it. He may not be selling it but still it's not his.

You see, you have this dynasty of yours. What if I copied it and just changed the Font Color and then posted it like my own. How would you feel? Happy? I don't think so. Even if a thing makes the previous one better, you still have to give credit and ask permission to do that. The time Andrew has dedicated just to make roster then you're the one getting credits would make him feel bad. It's just a cheap shot of stealing, y'nah mean. We patchers of the community have been ripped off by chinese & russian (I believe) sites cause they ripped off our patches (with them being credited) and that doesn't make us feel good.

It's not about being a lawyer, it's about respect.

Well I just released one with the trade deadline update...probably another week or so before I release another update. Gives me more time to make as many corrections and improvements as possible, while including as many transactions and lineup changes as possible.
