Need trading suggestion for Z.

Postby threatlockz on Sun Jan 30, 2005 7:02 pm

So I'm in a dynasty with the cavs, pretty good so far at 14-7 and James playing mvp ball: 30.1ppg, 7.4rpg, 8.2apg. Drew Gooden's solid too, avg'ing about 19 points. Now I wanna trade Ilgauskas, don't matter for who, wanna play small and fast, kinda Suns-style. But the problem is Z is under a 14.69mil contract  and I have no idea where I could trade him???

Anyone been able too trade him? Or suggestions I should try?

I dunno if this would help, but my first Dynasty was with New Jersey... I traded Jason Kidd for Z and a 1st rounder. Maybe you could try that the other way around and see if it'd work.

i got a trade: Z + Diop for Van Horn and Santiago... played against MIN with my new team. Gooden wen crazy grabbin 21 boards along with 29points. Van Horn had 12 and 8, I outrebounded the Wolves 59-41.

But I don't think I'm gonna continue with this trade. Cavs don't feel right without Z there :)

Because Kidd would make James even better than he already is, and since they are building around him a PG like Kidd would be a perfect fit.

And Cleveland is a strong rebounding team, Gooden and Kidd more than make up for Ilgauskas' rebounding.

I think his point was why did the person who had a nets dynasty trade kidd for z.

indeed... Nets won't trade Kidd, even if I involve an extra player against one weaker of them. Gonna take a look at Curry / Chandler combo, that would be cool.

So the first part of that incoherent rant was directed at threatlockz, the second was at me.

Chandler & Curry is a no go, their salary is only 10mil combined so bulls are out of sal cap space.

A Z for Spree trade will work, but you won't have any use for spree, as he's getting older and his contract is basically the same.

so my reply was pretty damn useless.

Z is in his final year of the contract. You can just lose him in the off-season and get a good guy back with all the cap space you'll have in the off-season.

I did this in my Cavs dynasty... I tried to clear space as much as possible trading guys like Snow etc. out of my team (somehow I never liked playing with the guy)... To get as many expiring contracts as I could and during the off-season I signed Z back for about 7 million and dropped most of the other expiring contracts and got me Shareef Abdur-Rahim in the off-season... During the third season of the dynasty I'm starting Gooden-Shareef as my C and PF and it's working pretty well. Both can score, both can move and both can rebound. Only thing is that Shareef can't block anyone, always get a foul in a difficult situation. I've got rookies starting at SF and PG and LeBron as my shooting guard. I've got a dominant small forward in a seven footer who is a defensive presense and a dunking machine with some touch from the outside as well. My point is a guy I drafted with the 10th pick in the first draft... He's just crazily quick and score with the best of them, but ain't such a great guy on defense. Natural shooter, but I play him point due to his size. He's only like 6'3"... I run the plays through LeBron most of the time...

The first off-season was a blast... I had a great time... Traded for that seven foot small forward in the off-season, he was picked number two or three in the draft...

I digress... After signing Z for 7 million he's more tradeable after that.

lol... yeah right. do you even play the game? why would the suns EVER do that?

Got a trade!! :D

Ilgauskas + Luke Jackson for Okafor and Slay. Pretty nice deal for me, as I didn't use Jackson anyway. Okafor got 16pts and 13rebs in his first game as a Cav,

How'd that happen?

Z's contract is like $12M and Fluke's is only $2M. Okafor and Slay maybe like $4M combined. :x

it's called cheese :proud:

Bobcats have $20+ million dollar cap space so it's easy to rape them of Okafor in the 1st year of a dynasty....

You dont have to trade for a Center, Try a good Power Forward who has a nice FG and Dunking you dont need blocking or really good rebounding thats Gooden's job and hes good at it. And my advice is find one with good speed hmmmmm Okafor is a good example. Anyways good luck to ya.
Im 42-1 with Pistons, Ben Wallace Avg 28 Pts, 18 Rebounds, and 12 blocks.

HAVE FUN!!! GO EAGLES!!!!

Big Ben? You kiddin' me? He should have a FG rating of 5 or sth. Power D , though, championship material....

Okafor is a good example.

Meka is probably the only way to go if you want to simultaneously get rid of some big money-eaters....
