Game Recaps

Wizards Maul Grizzles
Was it great play by our Wizards? Or was it just a dismal effort by Memphis? We may never know, but what we do know is that the first game of the Washington Wizard's 04-05 season is ranked high in NBA all time blowouts. With the team completley re-vamped from the pervious year many Washington faithful wondered how the team would fair. Let's just hope after tonight some of the burden has been lifted from them.

Things started out with a bang as the first points of the season, and this young man's career, were scored by Ben Takash with a 360 jam.
Image
This was a tone setter for the rest of the night. The Wizards kept pounding it away down low, dumping passes into 7 ft center Jing Xu. But when Memphis started to shut down the Wiz's inside game, that's when the gaurds took over. Little 5'10" Joshua Carr, who possibly has the best 3 point range in the game today, led the charge draining three after three.

In the second quater the bench picked up where the staters left off, embarassing the Grizzles. Sixth man Honnor Glow showed why he could start on any other team that wasn't so deep by breaking Mike Miller's ankles again and again... And again, just for good measure.
Image

Late into the second half Russel Santos susstained an arm injury. "It's onlt minor," The Wizards team doctor told the press after the game. "He'll be over it in a few days." Which is good news considering how effective Santos is on both ends of the court.

The Wizard's also proved that they have solid roleplayers too. Like Small Forward Cody Worley, who had 10 points, 3 Assits and 2 boards.

Will Washington be able to mantain it's drive throughout the tedious 82 game season? We shall find out...

Wiz Make It Two In a Row
Image
After a very lopsided first quater it looked like a repeat of the Washington's previous game. Charlotte was in-effective both on this inside and on the perimeter. Although the Bobcats began to show some fire in the second half when Kapono began to heat up. It was obvious from the start the this was Carr's game, who finished 1 steal shy of a double double, he shot 9-12 from the feild and scored 16 points.
Image
Not that this was a surprising win, it's not hard to dominate the Bobcats.

Heat Cool of Wizards
The Wizards first true challenge of the season, playing possibly one of the best teams in the east, Shaq and the Heat. The Wizards began with a lack luster start, not rotating on defense and leaving Wade and Jones open on the perimeter. But things remained close and Cody Worley got the team's energy pumping with a rim hanging slam.
Image
Washington was just narrowly out played in the first half and was intent on taking the lead. That intent was soon squandered by a Maimi team that seemed energized after the half.
Image
Although Joshua Carr's three pointer with 1:30 left in the 4th tied the game a 59 the Wizards got no closer and suffered their first loss of the season.

It wasn't on rookie... My personal sliders on All Star, I'll see if I can fix them to be more realistic tonight.
