same dunks

Sat Nov 27, 2004 4:59 pm

ive been playing dynasty on pc with the cavs. id just like to ask why james would perform the same two-handed dunk over and over again? about 50-60% of the time. im quite irritated with that dunk now. he very very very seldom dunks using one hand

theres quite a very few variety of dunks iv been seeing. i know the allstar mode has quite a number and i would certainly wouldnt want the regular game to be a dunkfest, but seeing that dunk everytime makes me sick.

how should i correct this?please help

The dunk vary on from what angle the player comes from, but also if he's in high speed (aka turbo button pushed down)...
Try going into practice and experiment a little on diferent approaches. Then you'd get a better overall view of it I think.

Players seem to have preferred dunks once again. Additionally, the amount of spectacular dunks in the regular 5 on 5 gameplay has been toned down somewhat this year.

play 2003

Sun Nov 28, 2004 5:08 am

Well I just played part of a game with the Cavs (to try to help you out with this), and I noticed that he does seem to do the same dunk most of the time if the offense and defense are already set around the paint. It's not very likely he would be dunking then anyway, but the two handed jam is more stable in traffic- he's less likely to lose it or miss. On fast breaks, I noticed a few other dunks were more likely to happen- a fast break is a better opportunity to be "flashy". So I guess maybe the best advice is to be a bit more realistic in when you choose to dunk, if the defense is doing it's part, he probably wouldn't even be able to get a dunk down- so you should be happy it goes down at all :) Try a jumper instead- or if you really need to dunk, try to get rid of the defense- work your offense around. Maybe try an isolation and fake out your defender, or a pick and roll.

nah i rather take a shit then play that peice of crap game. and soon or later u will get banned and when that day comes i know me and others will be so happy.

since i play with the cavs on my dynasty i should be an expert at the bron dunk. When he drives the lane with people around him u usually see the 2 hander. and when he drives baseline he does the up and under dunk. when your on a fastbreak try not pressing the turbo hell do some pretty sweet dunks then.

Everytime I see LeBron James in highlights, I always see a new dunk. Too bad he's stuck with this signature dunk. I see that all the time whenever Baron Davis dunks. He always has this one handed dunk and I've never seen him make a different dunk (as far as I can remember.)

Sun Nov 28, 2004 4:05 pm

paul pierce i think is another one. i was playing with him and he seems to do the same one handed dunk all the time, where as ricky davis seems to have a few differen t dunks. I think i ll take the advice stated above and go into practice mode and play around with the different angles and weather or not i have turbo on!

Sun Nov 28, 2004 4:30 pm

also u could pick up a copy of 2003 and check those dunks out. u can do 360s and windmills on the run and THERES A TON OF FASTBREAKS. they run and gun every time the cpu misses.

LeBron's Favorite Dunk is in this game. The freaky One Hander. It's the new 1 Handed Dunk in the game...

But if you softly run UP CLOSE to the hoop, You'll do a Two Handed Windmill...

Sometimes when I'm on the break, I'll throw it down court, dude would catchm and he'd throw down the Dirtiest 360 KNOWN TO MAN.

too bad we cant do bron's dunk where he was higher then the basket like he did against the bobcats couple weeks ago
that would be sick on a fast break

well i have a cavs dynasty and lebron have a lot of dunkz

Mon Nov 29, 2004 5:59 am

just try not pressing the turbo button so much coz he loses stamina thats why he is doing the same 2 hander i guess...coz at first i was pissed because of that always 2 hander but playing too many games i learned the trick...and try playing with the analog a little...and ull see some crazy dunkz..

Hmmm... maybe you could just do a normal one handed dunk and change the camera angle, cos thats what happened in that dunk anyway.

Do they still have that "dunk pack" rating? maybe if you change that he'll have more dunks?

yea...but he really did get that high, his kneecap was same height as steve smith face and he is 6'8

on the topic of different dunks, im usually dunking with turbo but i do it from different angles so i dont get the same dunk everytime....

Dunks

The Dunks in Dr. J vs Larry Bird were off the chain!

And those in Lakers vs Celtics were great too.

Swap 2005 for one of those.

Finally :D (y)

hmm well yeah I kinda notice its all simple dunks when u play the normal game but u get like a thousand and one dunks to do in the dunk contest....its kinda realistic I guess....hmm maybe do a spin move or a dribble move before u go for the dunk might change it, but yeh I guess its supposed to be more realistic....try flipping the sliders a bit here and there, it might help too.

Mon Nov 29, 2004 7:09 pm

Just turn up the dunk frequency slider & he'll do different as well as more dunks!!!!!!

Bestclubowner, eat that!!!!!!!!

Actually also jump from different areas near the basket, not dotted line all of the time.

But we'll see too many more dunks compared to layups :|

Yeah, that LeBron one hander was awesome! I'd love to see him in the slam dunk competition.
