roster cut off date

Fri Sep 24, 2004 11:34 pm

i was just wondering, any maybe the topic is misleading, but now that we have roster listings for each team thanks to ign has anyone spotted a player on the wrong team? if so it might be good to make a thread about what changes need to be made once someone receives the game. i gotta be honest in that i have not followed alot of the smaller moves that may/may not have happened recently so i could easily have over looked something. anyway just a thought.

John Barry and Kenny Anderson aren't on the Hawks. Those are the two that stood out the most, though I wasn't really looking with a fine tooth comb.

and of course no Shaun Livingston at all

Sat Sep 25, 2004 1:15 am

Rod Strickland is listed on Warriors roster, although he neither never played for them nor signed with them

Sat Sep 25, 2004 1:55 am

I'm pretty sure Strickland and Gill are a result of free agent signings in the simmed season. With ratings over 60, they are probably among the top guys to help your team right away.
I think the cutoff date is between august 24 and 30, since dampier is on and he signed 24, but knight is not on bobcats, signed 31.

can anyone please summaries what we have to do when we get the game? I mean which free-agents we have to sign and which players we have to create...

Sat Sep 25, 2004 11:06 pm

the cutoff date was august 27th. the moves you'll have to make in the game when it comes out:

Sept. 23 Seattle signs Ibrahim Kutluay

Milwaukee signs Jelani McCoy

Sept. 22 Atlanta signs Kevin Willis

Philadelphia's Todd MacCulloch announces his retirement

Sept. 16 Atlanta signs Kenny Anderson and Jon Barry

Charlotte signs Steve Smith

Sept. 15 Miami signs Christian Laettner

New Jersey waives Lucious Harris

Sept. 14 Indiana signs second-round draft pick Rashad Wright and rookie free agent John Edwards

Golden State signs Luis Flores

Sept. 13 Memphis re-signs Jake Tsakalidis

Sept. 10 Cleveland signs Jake Tsakalidis to an offer sheet

Sept. 9 L.A. Clippers sign first-round pick Shaun Livingston

Golden State waives Christian Laettner

Houston re-signs Mike Wilks and trades him, Eric Piatkowski and Adrian Griffin to Chicago for Dikembe Mutombo

New York signs Bruno Sundov

Philadelphia waives Greg Buckner

Sept. 7 Phoenix signs Yuta Tabuse

Sept. 3 Golden State waives Popeye Jones

Sept. 1 Portland re-signs Darius Miles

Dallas waives Jon Stefansson

Houston re-signs Scott Padgett

Seattle signs second-round pick David Young

Aug. 31 Charlotte signs Brevin Knight

Aug. 27 Boston signs second-round pick Justin Reed

thanks that should help alot. i was also wondering, what was the pc cut off date last year? it is usually later than the console versions

Sun Sep 26, 2004 5:49 am

this simply means they're in the free-agent pool right, you don't have to create them?

Sun Sep 26, 2004 11:44 am

most of those guys are free agents/trades. but you might have to create kutluay and tabuse if you want them in. i dont thik tabuse was part of the PA until he signed with the suns.

Sun Sep 26, 2004 12:03 pm

damn! yuta won't be on the suns and bateer won't be on the knicks! i hate the fact that my computer can't handle 2005 and you can't really update with ps2 unless u have an adapter.

I am not worried about the rosters being wrong because I will go online and download the current rosters then.

Mon Sep 27, 2004 8:15 am

I remember in Live 2004 the rosters were effed up too... I remember like Dion Glover wasn't on Atlanta but Milwaukee or something

Mon Sep 27, 2004 10:36 am

the roster cut off date could be early august like august 30

Mon Sep 27, 2004 10:36 am

Similar problem with Michael Redd in NBA Live 2003. Redd signed an offer sheet with Dallas and at the cutoff date, he was still with the Mavericks. After the game went gold, the Bucks matched the offer sheet and he returned to Milwaukee.

Dang ... Andrew really knows his stuff dont he :D (Y)

Mon Sep 27, 2004 6:13 pm

Im pretty sure I saw Kendall Gill on the Timberwolves roster in one of the operation sports screenshots. I don't know why he was there he didnt play for the Wolves last season and they haven't singed him. :?

Mon Sep 27, 2004 7:05 pm

Yeah, I defintely saw Gill on the Wolves roster too.

I think UconnDynasty's suggestion will prove to be correct:
