Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

Now that Xbox Live is supported in EA Sports games, I can see myself standing in Software Etc. or EB with a copy of Live for PC in one hand, and for Xbox in the other. What do you guys think? Will there be ways to h@X0r NLSC roster updates into the Xbox version? Likely not for playing via Xbox Live, if at all.
From my point of view, here are the pros of each:
PC:
- NLSC rosters
- fully customizable controller
- better graphics (when I upgrade my machine... soon)
Xbox:
- playing while chillin' on the couch
- Xbox Live promises to pwn PC online play
- playing while chillin' on the couch
- can take it to a friend's place to play if said friend doesn't have it
- playing while chillin' on the couch
- 5.1 sound if I ever convince my better half that we "need" good speakers for the Xbox (it's our DVD player)
Tough call if you ask me. It would be nice to get both but I'm not made of money, and switching controllers from PC to Xbox would drive me nuts.
Opinions?

I think you can download content, you can in Madden. Why not Live?

100% PC

Patches are the reason why my Live 2004 cd isn't in some drawer collecting dust right now. Seriously, they're the only reason why a lot of us here even play the game now.
So yeah... I'll be getting it for PC and since I don't own a console, I'm not so spoiled as to miss "playing while chillin' on the couch."

Very funny, Hotshot. Spoiled? I never had a real couch + console setup until, well, less than two years ago. It's more like "having what I didn't have in my youth". Most of my gaming as a kid was on the Apple ][e, at that wasn't even at a real desk.

Honestly, who would rather watch an NBA game in computer chair over a couch? Yeah, thought so.
You guys are sinking my Xbox-version lust... but I won't be getting 5.1 speakers for my computer unless I win the lottery (very low WAF -- wife approval factor).

I knew I should've put

that emoticon at the end. I was just kidding man.

Patches make the game so much more realistic, I would pick the pc anyday, Patches>>>>>>>>>>>No Patches.

1 word :
PATCHES!
Patches and the abilty to customize your game even more than console is the reason the PC game will be the best version.

PC, and do what I do. Which is put a mattress in front of the computer desk and stack a bunch of pillows behind you. I'm lying down right now.

LOL, Hotshot, my bad.
Colin, I like your idea. Maybe I'll put out one of my folding camp/picnic chairs with the drink holder.
Anyway patches... blah. All I care about is rosters when it comes to patches.

From what I see, Live 2005 may not require that much patching. Maybe change the scoreboard and add some players....

Then you should be getting the console version then. But if you want the most accurate, up to date rosters--team add ons, ultra realistic cyberfaces, super accurate player accessories, ultra realistic brand name sneakers (some that haven't even been released yet), the ability to give new and upcoming NBA players real cyberfaces, realistic stadium dornas and other little unique real life details, real jerseys textures, the most accurate NBA jerseys (with the right colors), the ability to add or create any NBA throwback/alternate/ fictional jersey (that might of not be in the game) and by the way the best in- game graphics--then get the PC version.
But if that stuff doesn't factor in getting a basketball game, then I'd definetly get the console version.
Ludacris, I bet you patchers will find something to "perfect/patch" in Live 2005--trust me coming from a patcher--there will always be something to patch. I'm sure the patching community will agree.

i honestly think that my computer chair is the second most confortable thing in my house(bed being first), so i dont see any advantage to playing on the couch. anyway for me i am definetly going pc.

What gaming pad or controller do you all use when playing LIVE 2004 and future releases like LIVE 2005? I mean, I don't see how it's possible playing LIVE on PC with the keyboard. If it is, what do you bind the keys to?

i never even patch my game anyway so thats also not a concern to me. all this crap about the faces and shoes and what not, who cares. the only changes i make is when i get the game i make any trades/signing that happened the cut off date. i will use opening day rosters for any franchise i start, even if they has been big trades dureing the season.

You make patching sound like some kind of drug man.
Rosters and minor updates is all that is needed. The player faces and jerseys are alot better this year and don't require that much fixing up.
