Yeah, not only a dunk contest, but a quite good one too. Can you believe you can actually make 20,000 different dunks???? WOW, it seems they really put some effort in it.

I can't wait! The new all-star weekend plus the Creation Zone.......

Unbelievable.........They've finally done it.....Its seams to me that they've really outdone themself with this one. I was actually getting goosebumps while reading the article. Too bad were probably gonna have to wait 3 months for the game to come out for the PC.

Sick! this sounds like a very nice addition that has actually had a bit of time spent on implemeting it well!

Screens look nice too, a great addition, but i'm awaiting for gameplay videos so i can see how the in game improvements are. Strong, realistic changes to gameplay are what give the game longevity. And that's what's important........ to me anyway.

Dunk contest = heaps of fun, a good distraction from dynasty mode, something to look forward to in dynasty mode (if we can play it in dynasty mode that is), but it is not the most important thing. I am hoping it doesn't just turn out to be a distraction from unrealistic gameplay simulation.

still, :D

Fantastic news! (Y) Even though I'm one of the "Dynasty and Gameplay before Glitz" crowd, I won't pretend that I'm disappointed. Judging by other previews Dynasty Mode will be pretty awesome too. Guess the suggestion that we should hold high hopes was warranted...though my lower expectations resulted in a nice surprise anyway. ;)

What? No skills competition? No crappy 2-ball or whatever they use the WNBA players in? All-Star Weekend indeed!!
Seriously though (I was joking, in case that didn't come across), it sounds like we'll finally get a dunk contest that allows for creativity. I have ESPN College Hoops, which has a dunk competition that ign compaired to Dance-Dance Revolution, and it wasn't much fun. Now I'll finally get to recreate Michael Finley's cartwheel dunk! Yay!
One other thing I noticed in the preview pics: it looks like the shorts are animated. Check out the pic with LeBron, Mo Pete and (Ha!) Boozer. LeBron's shorts are flaired out, which has to be animated, since the shorts don't look like that in other pics. Maybe the jerseys move too, though I can't tell from the pics. It's funny, though. I used morphmesh & oedit to change all the Live 2004 player models (i.e. thinner midsections, jerseys that hang out a bit, thinner shorts, smaller feet), and the changes I made look similar to the new 2005 models .
