Is there a way to change font, seen beneath players during the game?

Well, the game uses font files that are in the same format as Windows fonts, so you could possibly swap them with a font file of your choice. You'd just need to make sure you rename the font you're copying to match the name of the files NBA Live 2005 uses. I haven't tested it though so I can't guarantee it will work and you'll probably end up replacing more than just the font used for names in the Player Indictators.
