is anyone creating 08/09 rosters for live 05????

hey,

Due to each nba live game declining in quality (that is gameplay wise) from 06-08, im wondering, seeing as live 09 wont feature on the pc, will there be an update for live 05, and if so, when can it be expected.

i think jonthefon is trying to convert Albys's roster for 05.But he also had told us not to get too exited.

I have been working on an update. i am not really good with importing art into it though. i am just making the players and fixing the ratings. i am trying to make the teams more realistic. i played one roster patch and every team was rated 99. i don't feel that is realistic. my feelings are that only the nba champs should be rated 99. all others should fall somewhere beneath them. not to say that no one else can beat them but that it should be harder for others teams to beat them healthly.

jforward5, the teams being all rated 99 is because it was a roster patch converted from 07 or 08, where the overall ratings of players are higher than in 05. If you sim a season, all the top teams are still there.

i realize that, but i think that takes away from the reality. i am not the best at rating teams but even if it was a conversion someone should have taken the time to make the rating right. they have tracy mcgrady rated 98, that is to say he is as good as kobe or lebron, which he is not. he should be more like 85 or 88 rating. many others were that same way. if your going to do a roster do it right!

i am hoping to have my roster completed in a few months. i am the only one working on it and i am doing it player by player from scratch. i think i could use some of the cyberfaces from some of last years patches and the portraits too, but i am not so good with the art making. ratings i can do. they take time but i feel capable of them.

How about releasing a beta??That would be nice.

my beta would only have the first 5-7 teams complete, however the rest of them would have the players but not their true stats nor their numbers. i have tested the teams i have completed and when they go against the ones without completed players there is no competition. i will try to get atleast all the teams ironed out by the end of this month.

where would i upload the files to? i am not sure where i could host them that is free and not going to delete or be down everytime someone wants to get them.

Here is my beta version. Only 10 of the teams have the ratings done(i might need to do some tweaking on them still). None of the teams have the players correct height/weight or skin colors as of yet. I also want to use the cyberfaces from some of the older patches. but anyways this is the first beta of the roster.

just going through the lineups for boston and atlanta, which look to be completed in terms of ratings....... did you modify the already establsihed players on the game, because i noticed that players like bibby, allen, KG, cassell have the same ratings that they do in the original 2005 version.
Clearly, allen shouldn't be rated 85, cassell shouldn't be 69. So im just wondering how complete any of these teams are, if at all.

Also, when u say 10 teams are done, are you just referring to starting lineups? i assume that any player with a flat 50 rating is still yet to be done.

Maybe so you don't have to re-create so many players, ill upload my 2005 rosters up to about the end of march this year if u want to use them, all you might have to do then is create rookies and edit some player ratings to balance out age differences. i hope the link works, i don't really upload files onto the net.

well i may not have went into the game yet and made the recalculations, because i did edit everyone on the first 10 teams. starting lineups are just a guess right now. i have already made all the rookies and added some to some of the teams. i will upload a better beta in about 30 minutes.

here is an updated beta version. I feel that the players are rated logically based on their stats from last season. i also looked at the "teams" overall ratings and feel that all the teams through to the clippers are rated correctly. I still need to fix player skin color and weight/height as well as assign faces to them.

In the better beta, i noticed that nearly all the charlotte bobcat team are rookies.Atlanta and Boston have also have players who should not be rookies as rookies.Also, when I first opened the roster, Bulls didn't have a center position on their roster.We can also argue on the ratings all day(the most corrupt one that i saw was drew gooden(63)).But still, you are the only patcher at the moment, i count on you to fix these.
