DANET's Shoe Patch...Question

Postby soloredd on Sat Mar 26, 2005 7:38 am

Ok, I installed DANET's shoe patch which gives 2x textures and adds over 100 shoes from 2004. I have a minor problem with it, though.

Using the Warriors as my Dynasty, I can edit Mickael Pietrus' shoes and all of the Nikes and Air Jordans show up. I can use any of them perfectly. However, if I try to edit Jason Richardson's shoes, only the Reebok shoes show up...no Nikes, adidas, nothing. Is this something I need to fix manually?

What I want to do is give every player on the Warriors the white adidas superstar shoes that Mike Dunleavy, Jr. wears. However, it seems players can only wear a particular brand (i.e. Dunleavy only has adidas shoes show up in the editing).

Thanks :)

Is it for 2004 or 2005?

Either way, it's a built in part of the game to ad more realism (not having Shaq wear Jordan's and so on).
The thing for you to edit is in the players.dbf file; Under the SHOELIMIT collumn, there can either be 0, 1, 2 or 3.
0 is No restrictions
1 is Nike/Jordan
2 is Adidas
3 is Reebok

Well, the .nfo says it adds over 100 shoes from 2004 to NBA Live 2005. So, maybe it was a typo?

Ok, so to edit the players.dbf file, I just need to use DB Commander or something similar?

Yeah, as Andreas Dahl mentioned, you need to edit the players.dbf file using a DBF editor...DB Commander is quite commonly used.

This shoe restriction has nothing to do with the shoe patch itself. Certain players are tied to certain shoe companies (Vince Carter = Nike, Allen Iverson = Reebok etc.) and when EA added real shoes to the game (starting in Live 2004) the shoe companies made them restrict it so that Carter could not wear Reebok and Iverson could not wear Nike etc. As PC users...we have the ability to "fix" that however...through DBF editing (Y).
