Louis Scola cyberface

Postby Leander on Tue Feb 12, 2008 1:23 am

Who has a Louis Scola cyberface? I have one but it crashes with my roster and also with the standard NLSC07-08 roster.

I have mine from Jon's SGSM folder.

try removing the luscolaB_hair.ebo and see if that works
the reason it might be crashing is because the hair.ebo youre using belongs to 08's and 06-08 hair files dont work with 2005
i used to have a similar problem like you did, except that it was with either jared dudley or jermareo davidson, i forgot

El Barto for threeeee! :) You saved my roster, thanks. I thought that I had messed up my roster but now you helped me out. Great.

Can I still get some Scola-ish hair for him? And what about Renaldo Balkman? He has short hair in the game. What number refers to long hair (Brian Grant-style) in the dbf? Maybe I can look it up in Grant's values.

i think i mightve used cherokee parks' hair for scola. you could extract hair files in the plyrgrB.viv under the sgsm/players directory using EAGE(EA Graphics Editor). once extracted, dont forget to rename the file to luscolaB_hair.ebo. also, on the .fsh file of scola, extract the bmp of the bhed and reimport to remove the alpha as that will fix the transparentness of the hair ebo. the hair ebo may not be perfect, but its the best that can be done.

for balkman, do the same but look for a brgrant hair file and rename

Isn't hairstyle set in the players.dbf? Ah no, appearance. Can't I edit something there?

I extracted the two hairfiles but I didn't understand the part with "on the .fsh file of scola, extract the bmp of the bhed and reimport to remove the alpha as that will fix the transparentness of the hair ebo".

Should I load Scola's fsh with EAGE? I did it and nothing happened.
Please explain this step again.

open the .fsh file using a program called FSHx and then extract the cf to a bmp file and then import the bmp back to remove the alpha and make sure to save.
for the hairstyle setting in the appearace/players.dbf, im not sure about that. you can try though, i havent done that kind of thing before but it could be interesting to see what happens :)

Taco I have a problem with J. Moon as well. The game crashes. I have a fsh and an ebo...but no hair file. Can you remember if it crashed for you as well and what you did in order to solve the problem?

EDIT Suddenly it worked in practice mode. He has pink shoes. When I wanted to quit the game it crashes. I assigned shoes via the players.dbf but no luck. Still the pink shoes.

Ok, now I tested Balkman and Scola. Everything's messed up. Balkman has Brian Grant's hair as I wanted but some ear texture or something is on the hair.

Same for Scola.

How can I fix it? Do I have to edit something in the DBF? I only extracted Grant's hair from the viv...saved it as blabla_hair.ebo ... loaded the fsh, extracted the bmp, imported the bmp and saved.

I just saw that I suddenly have so many files! rebalkm.fsh, ebo, B_hair, C_hair, D_hair, ...

just keep the xxx_B.ebo files you dont need C and D
same thing for hair files, just the B ones
on your balkman pic, that hair is not grant's, i believe it is jamison brewer's(jabreweB_hair.ebo). you want to find brgrantB_hair.ebo and change that to rebalkmB_hair.ebo by means of renaming it and if that still doesnt work, try changing the value in your DBF back to whatever it was, that is if you did make a change

as for scola, if you wish to, you could either stay with the way it is[which is what i did with the scola i DLed] OR edit the scola bhed a little so that so dont see the ear/skin texture bit

No, I really extracted the correct hair file. The problem was that I had many Balkman-files (also hair files)...deleted the unused ones, renamed one...then it worked. He has the correct hairstyle BUT there are still problems as shown in the screenshots.

I applied B. Grant's hair value to Balkman. Same for Ch. Parks and Scola.

Please tell me how to fix J. Moon's shoes as well. :)

those are the best you can get for the hair files. grant's doesnt perfectly fit on balkman, so its better than nothing and scola, same as i said before:

moon's shoes...let's see......my best guess is to reinstall lookvod's shoe files and add them to your sgsm and assign him a shoe in the in-game editor :|

Oh...so there's no way to improve Balkman.
No, I can't edit the head. Never done that and looks too difficult.

No, I won't use the ingame editor as it recalculates a player's ratings with 05's method (the overall ratings are 07's values).

Thanks.

i dont think editing a player's appearance in-game has anything to do with a player's ratings O_o
anyway, here's an example of the scola im using now  http://www.nbaliveforums.com/viewtopic. ... 167#842167

It does. When you edit a player ingame his overall ratings drop by about 10.

Anyways, J. Moon works now. I don't know why but suddenly he had his shoes on. Maybe a late X-Mas present. ;) I had edited his fields and still no shoes but maybe I forgot to reload the roster.

I think so. As soon as you press on "done" the ratings are recalculated, no matter if you changed something or not. They are even recalculated if you just view the player, do not change anything and click on "done" to quit the editor.

I changed Nate Robinson's values. Also David Lee's. I improved some of them slightly. The values are used by the game but the overall ratings are not updated. I knew this so I selected the players from the ingame editor and clicked on "done" to update their overall ratings. And although improving the ratings the overall ratings went DOWN...I won't touch the ingame editor any more.

oh well. it still seems all the same to me even if it changes :?
moon doesnt require a hair file. i think you may have a moon headshape file that isnt converted yet. make sure that on the jamoon_B.ebo, near the bottom where it says ''headAshape'', change the A to B
