These values confuse me

Hello, I'm trying to add new jerseys to my game (not New Jersey, they're already in, sorry, I had to say that). But seriously, the values of SHORTTYPE and SHORTNUM are confusing me. I think what happened is that the person who made them used a different DBF editing program than me.

Basically, those values are of the True-False variety. However, when I look at the values I'm supposed to put in, there are 0 (which is false, I believe), and then there are values of 2 (for ShortType) and -1 (for ShortNum). I want to say those are true for their respective numbers, but since they are different, I'm not sure. I really don't want to screw up my game, so if I could get some help, that would be great.

Here's an example:
0 id+8 24 4 2 -1 serd 2004-05 2 1315346 5454238 3026478 145 1 1 0 1

These are the values as they appear in the readme. I have bolded the numbers in question.
