Is there any way to turn lighting on besides through that menu? It is unavaliable in that menu. Thanks for all the help in advance.

If it's not in the menu, it means your video card doesn't have the capabilities. I think there is a way to copy someone else's settings.dat file with lighting on to turn on lighting for you, but I'm not sure. What video card do you have?
