Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

The way I run my dynasty, I train a lot. Players get good, have success, and then want big contracts.
I find having NYK style accounting sheets to be unrealistic. But there is literally NO penalty in a dynasty for going over the salary cap. In fact, in my current dynasty, I just left the Wizards for the Knicks... The balance book was in good order. The first thing the CPU did with the Wizards in the offseason was go out and sign Kwamie brown (81), Antwan Jameson (72) and Lorenzen Wright (67)! All of these are big-ticket players I had let the contract expire on them because they wanted too much money. As a result, they sat in the free-agent pool doing nothing, because nobody has cap room.
Why was the CPU Wizards GM allowed to sign these players? It put him 25 mil over the cap.
Since NBALive uses play money, I can't really care about any luxury tax penalty. My GM rating is already 100 after 9 seasons and 3 championships. Would my rating be less, if I ran massively over the salary cap? Is there a reason to stay under, other than it makes the game much more difficult and enjoyable (for me anyway).

I always thought this was kind of dumb too -- there is no penalty at all. I hope future versions of Live require you to do some money managing. In it's current incarnation it ruins the signing system -- Kobe wants 100 million to stay on with me, well how bout I give him 200 million? Alonzo Mourning wants 4million? How about I give him 200 too!

Uhh, salleries dont do much. Its just if you want to keep it reliestic and sign some free agents or trade later on you will have the money. I suggest you sign them. Fuck the sallery cap space.
