Another Graphics Card Question!

Mon Aug 22, 2005 5:11 am

Hello, I am going to update my graphics card. The card that iam using right now works very very good. It almost seems like i have the best card in the market. I was just wanting to know which of these cards would work for nba live 2006...Since i want to play madden 06 i figured that i would look at that games specs and think that nba live 06 would have about the same as madden 06..here is my system specs as of now:

Windows XP Home
service pack 1
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1700MHz
1.69 GHz
640 MB of RAM

GeForce2 MX/MX 400
IRQ: 11
Bus: AGP 4x
Memory: 32 MB
ForceWare Version: 71.89
TV Encoder Type: Conexant Bt869

I know the graphics card is and looks old but nba live 05 works perfect in all max settings expect lighting which i dont care about.. The new madden game says it needs GeForce 3 or higher and a 64 Mb Card.. That is why am going to get a new one!! Heres are the links of the cards that iam looking at for buying..Tell me guys which one is better and which one would work with my computer?!?!?!?

Is there any difference between my last one and the one that you suggest???
I am not so sure about ATI RADEON just because i know GeForce is good and that is what i have now...I dont know if you can tell me anything about this but why should i choose a ATI RADEON over a GeForce?????

mine is faster than yours :)
radeon 9600 was just one overpriced piece of sh*t. ati & geforce are equally good. i've always had geforce myself for gaming untill last week when i got myself an ati radeon x850xt. it's the fastest agp card available and it truely rocks!

What exactly do you mean by "works very very very good? " An MX440 is a hunk of junk. It's outdated by about 5 years. If you were to sell it on Ebay, you wouldn't get $2 for the card. Don't believe me? Try turning up your resolution to 1024 x 768. See the hesitating movement? That's your screen frame rate going 2 fps. NBA Live 2005 doesn't require a state of the art video card, but it requires at least a decent one (at least a Radeon 9800 Pro or an Nvidia 6800).

why on earth are you replying on a 3 weeks old thread?
he started this thread to get a new card, so your post is useless.
