own free agents?

can i resign my own free agents even if i go over the salary cap?
i see cpu teams resigning their free agents and then i check and see that they end up being over the cap..

Yes, you can, but you must do so when given the opportunity to re-sign your own players. If you let them go through to the "Sign Free Agents" stage, you'll need cap space. Of course this isn't exactly how it works in real life, though there are exceptions that allow teams to exceed the salary cap when re-signing players.

thanks! this salary cap thing is really confusing. it's so different from how it really is... now, i wish they had veteran exemptions so i can sign some more guys for my bench...
