DBF Question ~ How can I make a player sign with me?

My team is over the cap but I would like to sign a player I created (83 value) to the minimum for the rest of the season (I'm in january.) I'm using DB Commander and I think I'm doing it right but every time I go back to the game the player is still a free agent. I'm doing everything from http://www.nba-live.com/nba2004/dbf_players.php so I need more help then just being told to go there.

Also I seem to find when using DB commander it takes a season before the changes I make go into effect. If I take someones offencive abbility from a 50 to a 75, only next season will they go up. Why is this and what can I do about it?

Easiest way is to change the player's TEAM and CASHTEAM so that he appears on your roster and payroll.

You need to go to Edit Player to recalculate a player's rating from within the game. Just enter Edit Player and exit, saving all changes (even if you didn't make any).
